FOUR KINDS OF CUTTING TOOLS

1.PLAIN MILLING CUTTER

A cylindrical milling cutter with teeth on the periphery only; used for milling plain o
r flat surfaces. Also known as slab cutter.

2. END MILL
A milling cutter that performs a mix of peripheral and face milling. End milling
engages the bottom and edges of the milling cutter.

3.SIDE MILLIMG CUTTER
A cylindrical milling cutter with teeth on the circumferential surface
and on both sides.

4.FACE MILLING CUTTER

A milling operation in which the surface of the workpiece is perpendicular to the
spindle axis. Face milling primarily is used to mill the top surface of the part.
SLITTING SAW
a circular saw or thin milling cutter for cutting metal

STADDLE MILLING
a side milling cutter especially when used in pairs a fixed distance
apart so as to straddle the work.

GANG MILLING
Gang milling is the term applied to an operation in which two or more milling
cutters are mounted on the same arbor and used when cutting horizontal
surfaces. All cutters may perform the same type of operation or each cutter may
perform a different type of operation. For example, several workplaces need a
slot, a flat surface, and an angular groove. The best method to cut these would
be gang milling as shown in Figure 8-32. All the completed workplaces would be
the same. Remember to check the cutters carefully for proper size.

CONCAVE CUTTER
These specially shaped cutters have rounded, sloping jaws that are designed to
cut close to the trunk, making a slightly concave, tapered cut that heals quickly
into an inconspicuous scar.




CONVEX CUTTER
We offer a comprehensive range of convex cutters which is extensively used to
mill the surface of the components and producing the profile on components.
These are provided with teeth on the peripheral surface or with the side teeth or a
combination of both. Our convex cutters are available in the size ranging from 10
mm to 300 mm diameter and are used in various sectors for different purposes.

SINGLE ANGLE CUTTER
Single angle cutters are those which have teeth on the conical or angular face of the cutter and also on
the large flat side.

FLASH DOUBLE ANGLE CUTTER
A double angle cutter has V- shaped teeth with both conical surfaces at an angle to their end faces.

ANGLE CUTTER
Angle cutters are used in many applications. Examples include their use in drilling aluminum and its
alloys. Angle cutters have many advantages in production applications.
