Sponsorship Proposal



Introduction
The Riverway Rowing Club is a non-for-profit community sporting organisation which was
established in 2005. We are proud of our achievements thus far, being the State Premiers in 2010
the North Queensland Premiers for 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010. Our competitive rowers compete in
regattas locally, nationally and internationally. Our club members have been selected to represent
Australia in para rowing as well as Queensland and North Queensland in open, masters and para
rowing categories.
Riverway Rowing Club is home to Townsville Grammar, Ryan Catholic College and Thuringowa
School Rowing Programs. We also partner with the Australian Defence Force in their Soldiers
Recovery Program.
Our aim is to be the most comprehensive rowing environment in Queensland by promoting member
development through coaching, fitness development, competitive and social opportunities. In 2013
our total membership base including students and adults was 173. We also hosted the largest ever
all schools regatta in 2013 which had competitors in total who came from as far south as
Rockhampton and as far north as Cairns.
In 2014, Riverway Rowing Club will host the following regattas:
RACQ North Queensland Games - 5,6 April 2014
All Schools Regatta - 9,10 August 2014
North Queensland Championship Regatta 4,5 October 2014
We are the only club in North Queensland to offer both a 1,000 metre and 2,000 metre course,
making our club the only choice for major regattas. The North Queensland events bring competitors
from Atherton Tablelands, Cairns, Innisfail, Townsville, Mackay and Rockhampton. There are 7
private and 2 public school involved in the school based regattas and they attract a large crowd of

family supporters. The All Schools Regatta boasts students and families from Cairns in
the North down to Rockhampton in the South.
The club is environmentally conscience with responsibility for Clean Up Australia coordinating for the
Upper Ross River. It regularly cleans out noxious weeds including water hycnthia and provides
support to the Townsville City Council in identifying areas of bank erosion, potential dangerous items
in the river that threaten habitats and affect all users.

Banner page advert on home page of the website for one month prior to regatta
Company logo and link on sponsors page on the club website

Sign/pull up banner with company logo at the finish line (company to provide)
Option to set up a display or hand out promotional material at the regatta
Opportunity for Regatta Announcer to interview company member during lunch break at
regatta
Regatta announcer to thank sponsor throughout the regatta.
Invitation for four people to attend our Annual Awards Dinner
Discount of 50% for 4 nominated individuals for a 6 session learn to row course.
Naming rights for a race and opportunity to present medals for that race
Company logo and link on sponsors page of website
