281{g) of the Immigratjon and Naturalization Act. Given our ltistorieal relationship. this
is a partnership that ,,¥in enable us to bettel'serve and meet the safety needs oftbe
residents of Et Paso .

We have been in your Denver, CQlorado G}fiice. Assistant Special

)0- My office wouldid.entify oneDeputy to work with our local ICE officials on a
full time basis. It is my intent that ICE will provide training on Immigration
related issues, including but not limited to the investigation of s'ltspected illegal
aliens. processing procedw'cs alld the Immigration court process.

)P> Once trained the assigned Deputy could then train and work with other Sheriff's
Office Deputies to nlrther. enhance the partnership between the EI Paso County
Sheriff's Office an(,i ouiRegional ICE Office. ,

video. as well as, conventional material used iltjnstruction. This facility is regularly used
to provide training and has space for more than 50 students in the main classroom.

)f> Establishment of an ldentification Review Officer at our Criminal J\!S:ti"e Center in
Colorado Spri.ngs~ Colorado. This is our sole booking and pre-trial ~tention facility for
all of BI Pas(, County,
? Train 14 Deputy Sheriffs from our Detention Bureau and t () Deputy Sheriffs from our
Patrol Division, who have a minimum of two years experience. have p~ssed a security
background acceptable to ICE. and apPl'Opriate language skills.

y Once trained the assigned Deputies could then work with other Sheriff s Office Deputies
to further enhance the partnership between the El Paso County Sheriff's Office and our
Regiol1allCE Office.
