Functional knowledge appropriate to technical de!elopment% of the asset
hierarchy and maintenance systems for assets# &his includes asset management
loops and general cycles for Pre!entati!e Maintenance# 'ork (rders, tasks, etc#
&he way all of these fit together is also something I)!e *een working on a good
working functional knowledge of to allow me to re+uire less of the ,A)s time when
de!eloping and analyzing functional re+uirements#
-reated a custom .ig Asset /oad program# 0pon o*taining a new (il .ig, it is
necessary to load all assets from top to *ottom into the asset system# 1owe!er,
there is no hierarchy esta*lished other than indi!idual Parent2-hild relationships#
'hat is necessary, is the a*ility to implement a way of going as far *ack into the
ancestry as possi*le, and then *eing a*le to follow the hierarchy downwards as
far as possi*le# A simple Parent 2 -hild relationship would not sustain this# I
implemented this with the use of a custom run control component of pages
featuring a run control page that re+uired multiple forms of user input which
dictated the manner in which the application engine would run, custom
application engine program which had the capa*ility to run under different modes
depending on what re+uired *y the user# In a nutshell if there were errors in the
in*ound data feed, an additional custom page that I designed was a!aila*le for
the ,A to correct the data and rerun the application engine to re3attempt to load
the asset data properly into the system#
4epending on the familiarity with the pre!ious process, the data load for a .ig
might take anywhere for 536 *usiness days# 'ith the new application I
de!eloped for Ensco, that time is dropped down to appro7imately ten hours#
Much of the data !alidation is performed in the code I created, and eliminates
much of the manual inter!ention re+uired *y the ,A
'orked with ,usiness Analysts to de!elop ,I 2 8M/ Pu*lisher reports that
pertained to Supply -hain 2 Asset Management#
Modified a deli!ered page which allowed the user to choose and !iew any le!el
of the asset hierarchy# From there, the user could maneu!er up or down the
asset hierarchy *y clicking on 1&M/ graphics *uttons to e7pand or collapse
entire sections of the hierarchy# Additional functionality was re+uired to e7pand
upwards, downwards, show si*lings only, show parents only, and to show
children only# &o do this, I modified the -omponent#.ecord#Field People-ode to
engage the 1&M/ area on the grid of the page# 4epending on the user
interaction with this page, I was a*le to ha!e customized
-omponent#record#field#Field-hange People-ode engaged to call Application
Package code to appropriately populate the 1&M/ Area column on the grid#

contractor and Ensco Employees from the corporate office and from the .igs in
the field% to not only fine tune my understanding of the functional aspects of my
technical documentation *ut also to perform mutual 4ocumentation and

employee# &his wad done through adding a drop down lost to the asset location
page, and then using roles assigned to .ig2'arehouse2-orporate employees to
dictate their access to the asset locations#

Successfully Modified e7isting application packages to *e a*le to allow for
*anking transactions *etween the 0S and nine SE Asian countries and their
*anking institutions# PeopleSoft ! ;#" < "#$% 4ifferent countries, and sometimes
e!en different regions in those countries, ha!e different re+uirements# &hese
differences radically change the outcome of the desired PA=M0/ file to *e
transferred# &his included the functional understanding and working of the
->&./ acknowledgment%, ,A>S&Aconfirmation%, and PA=M0/ the file sent
from Ensco to the foreign *ank% files#
&he PA=M0/ files were an initial step to *e sent !ia SF&P to the interntional
*anks# /ater impro!ements were to include using 8M/ formatted data and
Integration ,roker#
Successfully setup multiple currency acceptance and handling *y European and
Middle Eastern *anks that Ensco does *usiness with# Again, each new currency
and country re+uired changes to the resulting PA=M0/ file#
'orked directly with Ensco Accounts Paya*le -orporate and Field SME)s%,
Ensco ,anking and &reasury employees all corporate% to facilitate my functional
knowledge to le!erage the design and implementation of my de!elopment efforts#

reports for each *ank we did *usiness with to handle their indi!idual needs and
re+uirements# .eports were transmitted as custom named files, encrypted, and
F&P)d on an automated *asis#
Modification and drastic impro!ement of a custom *olt on application which took ,0
re+uired SA/ to *e performed against Production en!ironment and allow it to *e run in
the FS0A& en!ironment first *y the user to allow for their re!iew and appro!al first
PeopleSoft ! ;#"%# &his way, the user was in direct control of the output noting changes
necessary and sending them *ack to us for modifying SA/% and then finally making the
change themsel!es in Production# &his was not only for S(8 re+uirements, *ut e7ceeded
those re+uirements as it was the ,usiness that was in control of modifying production
data, not I&# &he pro*lem that I analyzed and fi7ed was that it was not appropriately
stripping non SA/ characters out of the SA/ which was causing e7ponential loops
through the People-ode# &his of course meant !ery long run times# I also fine3tuned the
code to unitize -ustom &a*le E7pressions to dramatically increase the performance
times in Production#
'orked with Manager and &eam /ead to mentor 9unior de!elopers not only on
PeopleSoft architecture and de!elopment *ut also optimizing SA/ performance#
'as responsi*le for an international call desk for a once a +uarter period of one week#
&his meant dealing with Ensco .ig and -orporate employees in countries and situations
throughout the world# (ften, English was not their primary language# Issues ranged from
account lockout due to too many attempt to log in incorrectly, or actual errors within the
PeopleSoft PIA itself# -alls were BC2D for the duration of *eing on call# PeopleSoft ! ;#"
