Last leaving off we went up to the era that Skandia had a change in leadership and the

faction system that had divided it had been demolished under new Unity rule. Skandia was
becoming a World Power and had fought several battles and made major alliances with other
emerging factions. Due to Unitys intense political involvement fearing a civil war in Skandia,
they had allied with the 2
nd
and 3
rd
biggest faction in the game, while simultaneously helping
them to raid in PvP, and to kill and be killed. The original leader of Skandia, cloudioa9, may
have abandoned the faction ultimately, but Skandia continued to carry on his legacy of being the
worlds biggest faction, and as seen throughout the rest of Era1 and Era2, it was one that they
pursued to no end.
It is true that with the divide in Skandia now destroyed that things were bound to get
better. However, because Skandia was split for so long it had to become victim to something
that every major, and probably minor, faction will encounter. Defeat & Chaos. Something that
I have come to fundamentally believe is that every person and faction will eventually hit this and
only the strong will survive this. Truth be told, Skandias entire recruiting process is almost
based off of failure. Throughout example, looking through this history alone, one could find that
this is true. The Original Skandians disaster was when they encountered mass griefing and a
lack of a leader. The Mushroom Skandians disaster was mass griefing that brought them to
poverty and a dictatorship government. However, because Skandia was split into three different
parts, reason says that it would encounter 3 different disasters because it was essentially 3
different factions. Unity Skandians had yet to hit their disaster, and nor had their allies
Cassassins. The Mushy Skandians had managed to survive their disaster, so Skandia had
ultimately passed the test to becoming a major faction, but the real question was would they
pass with 2/3rds of the faction or 1/3
rd
. Cassassins would ultimately collapse in their disaster,
and so has every faction since that has reached the large scale. The test was not designed to be
avoidable, but the test was designed to identify the strong. It was this test that became the core
of Skandias recruitment, merging, and ultimately Skandias process of identifying threats.
Unity was mostly known as a high security faction with large castle walls, and the base
itself was truthfully, a stronghold and a paradise. Little ever happened there and huge power
systems connected everyone allowing for people to get power and live in prosperity as they
pleased. Unity base was likely to continue on its course and go greater and greater if not for a
large series of events that would rock its core until it shattered. Almost coincidentally, Unitys
disaster was caused by events that, yes, the server played a major role in, but for the most part by
Unitys process of surviving a Skandia civil war. Yet again, the divide between the two factions
would cause another disaster within the faction. Actually, the rift in Skandia caused all three of
its major disasters, showing how poorly handled the merge was.
In this 2
nd
article of Skandias history, Cassassins becomes extremely important to
Skandias history. Cassassins was a major faction like Skandia, and mass recruiting like
Skandia. It was split by time zone with European and American; however they all lived in one
base. It was almost a test between which split in a faction would prove to be more effective.
Ultimately being split by time zones would allow a major coup to happen in plain sight, and for
everyone of that specific time zone to be a part of it. The major members of Cassassins
important to Skandia are Spence2345, Wilson2nd, and DonHello. The split in Cassassins
became evident to both Skandia and Cassassins and it was almost planned on happening similar
to Skandia, yet again, a civil war in a World Power faction.
The first event to truly spark the fuse of the Cassassin civil war was one between
Wilson2nd and DonHello. Both were on different teams and the tension between them sparked
widely across the entire server chat. Both were arguing over something, and eventually it began
to break server rules with Wilson2nd griefing Cassassins. Skandia, saying this behavior was
unacceptable, turned against Wilson2nd and claimed they would support DonHello, despite
being part of the coup that would hit Cassassins, due to Wilsons unacceptable behavior.
Spurned by rage, Wilson2nd turned his rage on Skandia leading to Unitys Chaotic Event.
Unlike in modern times, the location of UnityBase was hidden, but not to the extremes
taken now. All allies and friends were able to see it, and for the most part, it was only hidden
from enemies. The logic itself seemed sound, for it was in PvE world so how could anything go
wrong? Even if something did, the security system in Unity was sound and had proven itself to
be effective several times in the past. As far as Unity Skandians were concerned, the security
had shown that it had worked every time necessary. The alarm system was sound and could be
activated automatically by the Computer locks, or manually by a person. Walls made it so
players had to fly above the base; a giant power facility powered the entire base, and had a
forcefield over it for even more protection.
The security though, had never been put to the ultimate test of an ally betraying Skandia
utterly and totally. Wilson2nd had been to Skandia in the past, and had kept a waypoint at the
base, and had even participated in the attack on Anarchy and was one of the ones killed by
Malahostias in the day following the war. Flying onto Skandia Lands, and privy to several bits
of knowledge on Skandias foreign policy and security, he managed to wreak havoc on the base.
Upon arriving at Skandia, he teleported Kebbleshead, Malahostias, and any person who would
accept his teleportation request, into Unity. Powerless to stop the onslaught before them, the
Unity Skandians watched in horror as their base collapsed before their eyes.
As if to make matters worse for the Unity Skandians, events out of everyones control
had been transpiring throughout the week. LWC Protections had gone down sometime within
the past few days and all items were left vulnerable to being looted, and pillaged. With LWC
Protections down, all items were treated as if they would be in PvP, open or blocked by faction
land. However, that did not stop the disaster from happening from the interior of Skandia. Since
the fight on Anarchy base, the two Anarchy members who helped Skandia had since joined
Skandias barracks as a token of gratitude for their cooperation, and because when they
originally had made a new faction for themselves, KebblesHead had attacked them for their
treachery. When LWC Protections went down, they sabotaged Skandia from the inside.
With proper warning, Unitys stash of wealth was carefully secured before disaster from
the loss of LWC could attack it, others though were not so lucky. Several members were robbed
with the culprit unable to be found, and more than this, several things once locked became
unlocked. An attack on Unitys power facility caused a shutdown of power throughout Unity
base. Although un-orchestrated by the Anarchy members, another Skandian known as
Old_Perculier had broken into the facility and taken out the coolant cells on Skandias nuclear
reactor beforehand. The reactor was the major source of power for the base, and more than that,
due to the extra amount of energy being released, and my idiocity of not putting an HV
Transformer, glass fibre cables were fried throughout the entire facility and some of the places
that received power. More than this though, the MFSU Units were broken leaving all of Unity
without its source of power. With no power in the base, the force field protecting the facility was
brought down, and all members were scrambling for some source of EU for their homes.
Meanwhile, the anarchists were preparing for a greater terror.
It is unknown to this day if Wilson2nd and Kebbleshead negotiated the attack on Unity,
but none the less, Kebbleshead and Skandians anarchists without a doubt did. The anarchists
had leaked information to Kebbleshead of the wireless signals that Skandia used for its alarm
system, and had changed the signal on as many alarms as they could find, thankfully some were
hidden. When the chaos of Unity came, Kebbleshead before the attack had stolen the alarm
signal and made it so the alarm wouldnt go off when activated. Furthermore, similar to
Skandias fears, moneymanx had leaked the passwords to Skandias doors to him as well. With
malahostias on site and several other randoms, the base was being overrun with no way to stop it.
The base had an emergency nuclear detonation switch for situations of such an emergency, the
only problem was, since Kebbleshead had been leaked the password, he was able to deactivate
the nuclear detonation and ultimately hack the computer destroying the program. The Unity
Skandians could manually activate the nuclear bombs, but because LWC was down that meant
that the enemy could edit them too, and could flee before any of the bombs went off.
As Skandias wireless network, security, and power fell, it appeared as if the ultimate
disaster had hit them. Yet it had just begun, every measure of security for the base had been
crippled due to Wilsons betrayal on Skandia, and with lwc down and receiving help from the
inside, they were able to blow up everything that was not faction protected. The area outside
Unity was being griefed as well by random people, and with the Unityians in mass panic, several
decided to flee to the being-rebuilt-mushroom-island knowing they were powerless to do
anything. To make matters even worse on this first attack, the two anarchists had spent days
creating uranium from their collectors. Due to the fact that the castle created limited space,
Skandia had begun to develop underground with bunkers and some buildings, below 60y. The
two anarchists had stolen several of the defense grid nuclear reactors, and planned to use the
uranium they had been creating, to completely blow up, most likely, the entire base, but as nukes
only work below 60y, the entire lower base.
The first explosion occurred above ground near the middle of Unity, although no one
died in the blast several were injured and the message was clear. Nuclear Bombs were being
detonated. Thinking that it couldve been by some miracle the defense grid, the remaining Unity
members left the base thinking that the others would blow soon as well, they didnt. Meanwhile
the two anarchists were blowing up the lower portions of Skandia in an attempt to finish off
Skandia in a fatal blow, by attacking their capital. The plot backfired when, deciding to check
back on the base realizing no one had died, I returned home and caught them with a nuclear
bomb. Immediately kicking them without any 2
nd
thoughts, the two were stopped in their plot to
blow up the remainder of Unitys District 1 [District 2 had already been crippled]. When the two
were kicked, several of the remaining invaders of Unity left. The nuclear explosions likely
scared off many of the randoms, and others were, not regretfully, poured lava on to prevent any
damage from being done. Although the upper base was still alive, and the enemys plot had
failed, they had lost.
When cassassins heard of the attack, several were willing to offer their help in rebuilding
Skandia. However, terrified by what had happened, aid was denied and instead Skandia was
worried about a possible coup in cassassins. They were right to worry, for it happened the day
after Skandias disaster. It is almost ironic, that the end of both Cassassins and Skandias
chaotic events were on the same day, and basically caused, by the same person. Wilson2nd had
left his mark on both Cassassins and Skandia, and DonHello realizing that it was the perfect time
for a coup, and because he was enraged for a matter that will be discussed later, decided to betray
Cassassins. That morning, he and several of cassassins left and attacked Skandia who was
spences true ally. DonHello being premium made sure to strike the group with lightning from
his gem armor or swiftwolf ring, making sure to finish off Skandia while it was weak. Knowing
that PvE killing was prohibited in this matter, the two Skandians on, myself and EnderMorphed,
were not overly worried of the threat (in actuality we were terrified, but that was more because of
the Hysteria from the night before).
When one of the members approached us though, the unthinkable happened, they hit us
and it worked. Looking at the chat I noticed something right off the back, the [PvE] [PvP] tags
were gone, PvP and PvE protections were fully off. They could be killed. Living in PvE,
Skandia did not wear armor necessarily, or keep weapons on them, they were meant to be safe.
So when attacked they did the one thing that they couldve, which was run. EnderMorphed took
off towards his house which had a personally built password door which allowed it to survive the
onslaught from the day before. Meanwhile I ran towards the factory and locked myself inside
hoping to survive and escape to the mushroom island.

Almost by luck, the solar panels on top of Skandias roof were meant to feed the
teleporters to the Mushroom Island. Despite all the borders being down, enemies still couldnt
use it to escape to the island with him, and because Skandia had been split for so long, cassassins
had never visited the island, it was the perfect escape place. The MFSU to the teleporter had
never been broken during the Anarchists attacks on the power facility as they didnt contribute to
the power grid, and it was that mistake on their parts that allowed me to teleport to the island.
Meanwhile, Endermorphed was unable to escape his pursuers and one casualty faced them that
day. Having to go to school, I tpd him to the island leaving him orders to make sure all of Unity
was to flee to the island until the borders went up again, which would not be for another 24hrs.
The precaution was necessary, and therefore proved effective during the next 24hrs.
Cassassins had split and were themselves in dis-array, but overall with borders down, both
factions were more concerned with surviving rather than seeing what had been destroyed. When
the borders went back up for PvE and PvP, though not lwc, both factions returned to their homes
and began to rebuild. Unity Skandia had barely been damaged from the attack yesterday because
of their large amount of power spared for such situations. Cassassins, having lost several
members, and having the disaster come from themselves, had been heavily griefed and had
several things destroyed. It would be the next day that Skandia and Cassassins would sign a deal
to merge their two factions together. The disaster that hit Unity was the worst of the 4 disasters
mentioned so far, not including the ones that Skandia brought upon its enemies, like Anarchy.
What made it so crippling was that not only was it a nearly 48hr period of disaster, but their
entire lifestyle and ideals had been destroyed. They had been betrayed by two allied members
from cassassins, and more than that, had been crushed by 2 enemies, and 2 insiders of Skandia.
The problems from the server only helped to worsen the disaster by making it one that Unity
could not prevent, for it was not their faults. LWC and PvP/PvE Borders and protections had
gone down and had caused the disaster to blow full portion. Had Wilson simply betrayed
without them down, the attack hardly wouldve been crippling. The two members from
Skandia never wouldve gotten nukes, and several other factors never wouldve happened. Yet
despite the crisis being over, the server-related-events would only worsen when an
announcement was made later on the DNT Website, Sever Reset Later this Week.

However, before we get all hyped up, and just to make you all hate me (no not really), we
need to go back in history for events that were occurring slightly before, during, and after
Unitys disaster for Skandia as a whole and for the Mushy Skandians. Before the escalating
crisis in Cassassins and, truthfully, Unity Skandians, and going back to post-Skandia-civil-war, a
decision was made shortly after the crisis to rebuild the Mushroom Island. The reasons for this
were simple, under Cloudioa9s leadership the faction had become split both in location and
technology. Changing the location of the Mushroom Island was not possible, but linking the
bases with stronger teleporters going both ways, and helping the Mushroom Island advance was.
So it was with this direction in mind that encouraged an alliance between the leaders of Unity
and the Mushroom Island.
All truths told, Unity really was going to reconstruct the island with or without
permission, and Mike2012, the leader of the Mushroom Island, was in no position to stop them
now that they had inherited leadership. Before some see this as imperialism on a weaker country
though, after Nick200 inherited leadership of Skandia, becoming its 2
nd
owner, he made Mike
the 3rd in command for receiving leadership and Tonymai1 the 2
nd
. More than that, the
Mushroom Island was in dire need of reconstruction, which was something both sides could see
on, if not necessarily agreeing on it. Most, if not all, the buildings on the Island itself (one giant
region constructed by GoldenChicken was on the ocean after he and others left the island due to
griefing), were either in pieces, or were griefed in multiple locations.
The island held more than building grief though, for the landscape itself was griefed in
some areas due to results of reckless quarrying, damage done by the griefers themselves, old
buildings removed without properly repairing the land, and a mass series of underground mining,
transportation, and item-transport tunnels scattered throughout the island. More though, many of
the buildings were abandoned due to Unitys intervention in taking some Mushroom Island
members, and due to the fact that almost everyone in the original city had left, the city itself, was
truthfully, a ghost town.
When reconstruction of the Mushroom Island finally began, all the buildings in the main
section of the town were destroyed and leveled. Many of the quarries were covered and borders
of what was to be Skandias first city, and the blueprint for all future ones, were being
established across the island as part of the deal Unity had. Although many of the people on the
island probably felt rueful about people coming in and leveling the place, in the end almost
everyone was satisfied and excited about the changes.
The reconstruction plan did more than simply rebuild the island, it transformed it. What
was once a shabby village wrecked and plagued by griefing became a city even better than Unity
with plots, roads, advanced technologies, and a neat and orderly civilization. The city itself was
built on a modern format with a downtown and several small homes outside of the city for
people who wanted to be away. Downtown though was to consist entirely of skyscrapers, and as
progression continued on the city, both Unity and the Mushroom Island would not only pitch in
on construction, but help design the city themselves with their own buildings and ideas, it was, in
effect, a merge that could never have been accomplished under Cloudioas leadership. It was
during this time of teamwork, negotiation, and good times between the previous two groups, that
an unexpected and unpredictable event happened. Cloudioa9 had returned.
Cloudioa9 returned unexpected and suddenly, and, if truth be told, expected to be treated
as if nothing had happened during the time he was gone, and he was very wrong. Logging on
and realizing he was no longer leader of Skandia, we re-invited him because he was the old
leader, and he instantly demanded for leadership of the faction back. At first the requests were
ignored, but as he continued to request it, an answer was delivered by Tonymai1 on behalf of
Nick200 stating, Nick200 will continue to be leader of Skandia seeing as you left us to die. If
you had wanted leader you shouldve came back and checked to see how we were doing at least,
instead of nearly letting your faction erupt into civil war.
Cloudioa9 enraged, not only by the loss of leadership, but by the utter annihilation and
extinction of the Original Skandians, plotted against Unitys form of government. However, his
plan didnt succeed as he failed to realize that because of the reconstruction plan on the
mushroom island; his divided form of Skandia was ruined, and was now united with both sides
loyal to the current government. Furthermore, both sides of Skandia were enraged at Cloudioa9
for what he had let happen, leaving him with no allies left. He would not be seen again until
Era2 when he and Skandia would actually engage in combat with each other, unfortunately it
would be quite a quick end.
After Skandias departed traitor of a leader left the game, construction continued at an
even quicker rate at the Mushroom Island. Respect and trust between the old two groups was
growing, and it was no longer a faction filled with Mushy Skandians and Unity Skandians,
but instead one that has been commonly known today as Skandians. Truthfully, if you were to
split Skandia into groups in the modern era, the title for these first Skandians would be Era1
Skandians, due to the fact that Skandia has merged with so many alliances since then, but the
fact in the matter remains, that, Skandia became a faction that had rebuilt itself upon the ashes of
its mistakes. It moved past its errors, faults, misjudgments, and previous enmities and as a result
became the strongest faction, in my opinion, that DNT has ever seen. Both of the groups took a
step back, laid behind the past, and decided to try and work Together, United, for a better future
for Skandia as a whole. They survived their Chaotic Events, and created an elite city where both
groups put in there all, not for their individual pride or groups, but for the faction in general, for
their Country.
Days into successful construction of the Mushroom Island caused the island to literally
transform overnight. In a period of just 24hrs, giant skyscraper frames rose out of the ground
across the entire city. Roads began to emerge across the entire island and technology littered the
streets as the past griefings, destroyed buildings, and quarry holes vanished from the once
deserted city. Both of the groups were helping to support the island, with Unity & the Mushy
Skandians both working equally on their new city. Despite all this success, all the hopes and
dreams that were to come from the city though, its ultimate downfall was the upcoming server
reset.
The reset signaled an end to the current Era for Skandia, and almost no one knew what it
entailed or when it would happen. Thus, when realizing that their city was doomed to be
destroyed, construction on the city stopped as all the Skandians together looked upon what they
had created, together, and began to plan for the future. It is often said that people will only
work together if they have a common goal, yet here, Skandias goal was to build a city, and it
was taken away, and if anything, they began to work even better together while waiting for the
reset than on the city itself. Words could not describe the effect that the city had on Skandians of
both sides, it had United them in a way nothing else couldve. Despite the looming reset, they
had built their greatest accomplishment together, they had invited others to see and when they
became jaw dropped both groups knew that they had created that effect together. In all
honesty, had a reset not happened, odds were that Unity wouldve moved into the Mushroom
City, it was nicer, more suited, and in a better location than Unity was, it was Arcadia.
The reset signaled the end for Era1, and Skandia would be the first faction to log onto the
server for Era2, it would be the first faction created, and would get 10 of its members back on, in
Skandia, and working on a new city, before anyone else (save Mephalpha for a reason that will
be mentioned in the next article), had managed to even get on the server. When the reset hit
Skandia would begin to merge with several factions so that they could all begin anew together, in
a better atmosphere, starting right off the back un-divided.
The history of Era1 Skandia may not be the happiest one, and it was a rough journey
filled with holes and disaster. Skandia had gone to war with several factions, had been split and
divided, and as a whole had gone through 3 Chaotic Events with only 2/3rds of the faction
surviving. Chaotic Events and rough times such as these are something that every faction goes
through, and every day you log onto DNT, all you have to do is open your eyes and look to find
it. Most factions die in these events, others only grow stronger as a result, Skandia is one of
these. Chaotic Events are un-escapable, and they will always hit no matter what, in no way will
you ever be able to prevent it, albeit you might be able to stall it, all you can do is wait and see
if you can think logically through it, and find the flaws in your system and come back stronger.
In Era2, Skandia would face more challenges than ever before, but ultimately, they would
never hit a disaster like this ever again. The road ahead may have been tough, but overall, they
had survived their event and lived as a faction in harmony and bless. Few events rattled them,
and those which did like Chernobyl and an impending war with Malahostias, did little to
squander the Skandian spirit and identity. It is often predicted that another Chaotic Event awaits
Skandia, for it has never been hit by 1 as a faction for a whole, only individually while it was
split in groups, and when that day comes, well be waiting and well be prepared to deal with
it. For everyone, the key is not to give up and admit defeat, its to get up again and come back
stronger, and it is that idea, that has propelled Skandia into the future of DNT, and one that will
propel others, in their quest for Arcadia.
To be continued in Era2.
