The need to communicate

Definition: the need to communicate is a need of the human being to share and exchange knowledge
with other persons. It puts in movement a dynamic process, verbal and nonverbal, allowing people to
make themselves accessible one another, so that they can express the same way their feelings, opinions,
experiences and knowledge.
The independence in satisfying the need:
A person needs other people to answer the complexity of his vital needs and to satisfy his superior
needs. The communication is realized in two ways:
a) Nonverbal: the body language is an archaic way to transmit our inner feelings;
b) Verbal: is by excellence a vehicle of thinking, the verbal language allows a more precise way to
express the way we feel. The written language is more polished so that we can write correctly
the information that is about to be transmitted. The human being is able to communicate with
its own kind physically, but he is also able to receive sensorial, affective and intellectual stimuli
that are sent from the persons around him. To be fulfilled from the point of view of
communication the individual has to have a positive image about him-self.
Factors that satisfy the need to communicate:
a) Biological factors:
The integrity of the sent organs
The right function of seeing, hearing, smell, taste, touch
The hearing and seeing allow us to communicate with the outer world, the taste and
touch protects us from the dangers of the world around us
The integrity of the phonetic organs allow the verbal communication
The integrity of the bone structure allows the nonverbal communication
The erogenous answer is the reaction that stimulates the sexuality
b) Psychological factors:
Intelligence: the communication is influenced by the degree of intelligence of the
individual
Perception: the personal reflection of an object or of a phenomenon that is made with
the help of stimuli, the perception function can be educated
Emotions: are expressed thru the face expression
c) Sociological factors:
The entourage is determined by the need to communicate the good climate in an
entourage allows the individual to make affective connections, the exchange is the
message that passes from a person to another.
The culture and the social status: the education and the culture plays a big part in
communication
The personality the communication is influenced by the stage of development of the
human being personality, the personality determines the individual to be certain of his
abilities of expressing himself.
Independence manifestations:
a) Biological:
The adequate function of the sent organs:
Visual listening
Hearing listening
Taste and smell finesse
Touch sensibility
The verbal debit:
Easy
Medium rhythm
Precise and clear language
The nonverbal expression:
Movements
Gestures and postures of the hand
Face expression
b) Psychological:
Easy talking:
Of the needs, wishes, ideas and emotions
Expressing clearly your thoughts
Positive image of yourself:
To get to know yourself spiritually, material and social
c) Sociological:
To establish a nice relationship with the family, the co-workers and groups of friends
