I would like to introduce myself. I am Ms. Nancy Marshall and I will be student teaching this term
in Mr. Alberts fourth grade classroom. I am delighted to ha!e this o""ortunity to learn with Mr.
Albert and your child.

During my student teaching# I will be studying my own "ractice of becoming a teacher through an
action research "ro$ect. %"ecifically# I want to learn more about ways to make homework
meaningful.
Strategies that will be implemented:

Data to be collected:
During this "ro$ect# I will monitor homework assignments# sur!ey students about homework# and
obser!e class "ro$ects in!ol!ing homework to better understand this issue. 'his data will be
collected during the normal course of class routine and work.
Time line for the project:
I will be collecting data for this "ro$ect between December ( and March ).
How the project will be made public:
I will "resent this "ro$ect to the faculty and my "eers at my uni!ersity in A"ril.
How confidentiality will be maintained:
Pseudonyms will be used throughout the re"ort I write for the community# school# and all students.
Risks to students:
Data generated by students will be "art of the teaching/learning "rocess and will hel" me to be a
better teacher and to "ro!ide a better education to your child. 'here is no risk in "artici"ation.
