Pumps - Design
Pumps can be specified in two ways:
N If inlet and outlet streams connected to a pump are fully specified, then
nothing needs to be specified in the pump unit operation
N If outlet pressure is not specified, then a pressure differential across the
pump, or a duty must be specified

Heater and Cooler
Design
Like pumps, heaters and coolers can be specified in two ways
N If both the inlet and outlet streams are fully specified, then nothing needs
to be specified in the pump unit operation
N If the outlet stream is underspecified, then the heater or cooler can be
solved by specifying the pressure differential and/or the duty
