Role Purpose

Works closely with business stakeholders, project managers and project team
to understand strategic business objectives and drivers. Delivers detailed
business analysis and requirements on small-medium size projects using pre-
determined methods to the agreed standard of quality and within the specified
constraints of cost, risk and time in order to effectively support the change
required by the business.
Key Accountabilities

Understanding and clarifying business goals and objectives driving the need
for a business project.

Validate scope and agree with Lead Business Analyst all appropriate analysis
activities on a project, including the detailed output documentation required

Extracts, documents and manages business requirements

Provides input to benefits and solution identification and determines key
issues, risks and contingencies

Accurately assesses and effectively communicates the impact of business,
operational and technical change to stakeholders

Conducts detailed business analysis using appropriate tools and techniques
e.g. business process improvement and ongoing benefits analysis

Supports and maintains a consistent project management methodology
ensuring analysis activities conform to appropriate governance including all
project documentation

Manages requirements traceability through out the development life cycle.

Proactively works with others to ensure successful delivery of analysis
deliverables, providing regular status reports and an up-to-date view of
resource utilisation and requirements

Typical knowledge, experience and skills

Experience of business analysis in a multi-disciplined and commercial
environment

Familiarity with a variety of Business Analysis tools and techniques

Basic knowledge of development life cycles

Good attention to detail and a concern for accuracy

Strong decision making and analytical skills

Strong problem solving and proven negotiation and conflict management
skills with the ability to resolve issues at all levels of management

Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of relationship management

Ability to produce high quality, detailed and thorough analysis documentation
in order to present information effectively and clearly to stakeholders

Working towards or attained ISEB Business Analysis Diploma or IIBA
Certificate of Competency or equivalent
