Welcome to Alice Lloyd Residence Hall

You have been issued an MCard, which allows you access to the residence hall and Marketplace at Mosher-Jordan, and a room card. All
doors at Alice Lloyd are locked 24 hours a day. Please be sure to take your MCard with you wherever you go. MCards must also be
presented for entrance and meal access into Marketplace at Mosher-Jordan.

Lock Your Room: The University is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.

Maintenance You may report any room/building problems by directly calling the
Concerns: Community Center at 764-1172 during operational hours, after hours please call 647-2059.

Telephones: Room phones are operative for local or University calls only, however, you may receive long
distance calls in your room.

To Make Telephone Calls from your room phone:
ON CAMPUS: Dial all numbers as is
OFF CAMPUS: Dial all numbers as is
COLLECT: Dial 0 for operator
CALLING CARD: Dial 1+800 (or 888, 877, 866) + carriers access number to make a long
distance call using a purchased calling card
UM OPERATOR: Dial 0 or 615-2244 (U-M Automated Operator Service)
VOICE MAIL: Voicemail is not provided in the residence halls.

Smoking Policy: University policy does not permit smoking campus wide.

Internet Access: Guests need Win2000, WinXP, or OS X operating system, A login screen will appear when first launching their
web browser.

To access MGuest:
1. Connect to the MGuest WiFi network
2. Open a web browser; the MGuest welcome page will appear
3. Enter your email address and agree to terms to gain network access.

By using this resource, you implicitly agree to abide by the highest standards of responsibility. You are
required to comply with all University policies, state and federal laws concerning appropriate use of
information technology. Non-compliance is considered a serious breach of community standards and may
result in disciplinary or legal action.

DO NOT perform any action that would impair the function or compromise the
integrity of the computer network or result in the denial or degradation of another
users access to the network.

DO NOT alter or extend the network by adding any equipment, such as but not
limited to wireless access points, routers or hardware firewalls. I will not alter
network wiring, equipment or network jacks.
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
Tornado Warning: A 3-5 minute steady tone on the City of Ann Arbor warning siren indicates that a tornado has been sighted. This
represents a threat to the safety of persons in this area.
Seek shelter/safety in the following areas:
Cellar, basement,
underground excavation,
or lower floor of interior
hallway or corridor
(preferably a steel-framed
or reinforced concrete
building)
If no basement is available,
seek shelter under a sturdy
work bench or heavy
furniture (i.e., table or
desk)
In open country, move
away from the tornado at a
right angle
If no time to escape, lie flat
in the nearest depression
(i.e., ditch or ravine)
Avoid the following:
Top floors of buildings
Areas with glass windows
or doors
Auditoriums, gymnasiums,
cafeterias or other areas
with large, free-span roofs
Automobiles

During a tornado, keep the following items with you: Flashlight*Radio*Telephone

Listen for: Radio reports and the City of Ann Arbor siren/public address alarm and announcements

Remember: A Tornado Watch means tornadoes are expected to develop and a Tornado Warning means a tornado has actually
been sighted

To report a tornado or for additional questions: Call the University of Michigan Department of Public Safety at 9-1-1
