STUDENTS' PROBLEMS I anticipate that the following may cause problems: students might feel nervous and find difficulty in expressing their point of view. They may have forgotten the difference between formal and informal.

After the greetings and checking of the attendance, T asks the students how they feel -to create a suitable atmosphere and warm students up
5 min. 2. LEAD-IN
T (teacher) asks one student to get out of the class and sit by the door. The teacher gives the word friendship which they have to mime when their colleague enters. The student enters the class and tries to guess from the class reaction the word given by the teacher. Then she asks another student to get out, and gives the class the word happy. After the 2 nd student returns and guesses the word, T asks the Ss what kind of letter they write to their friends. Ss answer. T announces the topic of the lesson and writes it on the blackboard. Ss write it too in their notebooks. -to get the Ss into the new topic

T asks the Ss to choose the correct item from each category and match it with the correct place on the letter layout. Ss do the task. T asks the Ss to list the expressions on exercise 2/page 13, by working in pairs. Ss complete the task. -to remember the difference between formal and informal -to write an informal letter
Blackboard Students notebooks 10 min. 4. PRACTICE AND PRODUCTION
When the Ss finish the list, T asks them to write an informal letter using the cues from the paragraph plan given by the textbook. Ss read the paragraph plan and give examples for a few cues. Then, they write the informal letter and send it to one of their colleagues. The addressed colleague reads the letter out loud. (2-3 letters)

T encourages other students close to getting a good grade and she also assigns their homework: to answer the letters they have received at the English class. -to evaluate Ss work -to assign Ss homework 5 min.
