COURSE INFORMATION

1.1

Course Outcomes

Upon completion, students should be able:


1. to explain the basic economic concept, market demand and supply, market
equilibrium, business cycle, national income, inflation, and international trade.
2. to describe the roles of government, government policy and intervention in order
to control the stabilization of economy in Malaysia.
3. to interpret demand and supply curve, calculate and analyse the elasticity of
demand and supply, national income, and inflation rate.

Course Description

This course is intended to provide an introduction to basic ideas of economics and


focuses on student learning and applying the central ideas used in economic analysis. It
is also aimed to provide the students with a general knowledge of the factors of economic
affecting the construction industry.
