AIM(S) of LESSON The main aim(s) of this lesson will be: - To describe people, to talk about their physical traits - To recycle old vocabulary (tall, long, short, etc.) - To guess the meaning of the new vocabulary by using pictures (well built, fit, slim, curly hair, blue eyed, etc.) - To encourage them to use new vocabulary - To recognize familiar people by their physical descriptions
AIDS/ MATERIALS: students books, tape, tape recorder, teachers book, pictures with famous people.

T (teacher) starts a conversation about the people close to the Ss (students). Students give examples; T asks for descriptions. -to warm students up -to recycle vocabulary
- 5 min. 2. LEAD-IN
T shows the Ss some pictures of famous peoples and asks if they recognize them. Then, asks them how they can recognize someone. T also describes some students in the class and draws attention on some contracted forms (hes= he is, shes got= she has got, etc.). T writes the title of the new lesson on the board and the Ss write it in their notebooks. T also introduces the main character of the lesson (Mick Malone, a private investigator who must find a missing person) and asks questions about him. Ss must answer using the pictures in the textbook. -to get the Ss into the new topic

10 min. 3. PRESENTATION OF THE NEW TOPIC
Ss listen to some descriptions and have to match some pictures with the description. T draws attention on a chart with common words used to describe physical appearance and explains the new vocabulary which she writes on the board. Ss write the new words in their copy-books. -to recognise and use new words -to encourage Ss to use the vocabulary to make physical appearance descriptions.

Ss are asked to copy a form and complete it with notes about four men and then use the information to make sentences. They will work individually. Then, T explains the next task in which they will have to listen to a conversation (on the tape) and identify the missing person. Next, T and Ss will play a game. In turn, each student will have to pick another person from the classroom and describe him/she so that the other would guess who he/she is. -to practice the new vocabulary
