The following interview was conducted to gather data that aims to support the
justification of why should the group use physics as the subject for their proposed
educational game.

Q. What are the subjects being taught in the HS Department of MCA?

A. The subjects that we give our students are based unto those that are prescribed by

DepED namely, English, Filipino, Science, Math and Makabayan. The science

subjects for high school differ each year just like any other school. General Science

for 1st years, Biology for 2nd years, Chemistry for 3rd years and Physics for 4th years.

Although we also have special subjects that were implemented just recently like

Introduction to chemistry for 2nd years, Introduction to physics for 3rd years and

Trigonometry for 4th year students.

Q. Based on your recent statistics, what subjects have a number of failing students?

A. That would be from our records last year, right? I think Mathematics, Chemistry and

Physics in particular. That is also the reason of why we had to implement special

subjects such as Introduction to Physics, then at the end of the year we will see the

outcome of our actions.


Q. Who are the teachers that teach these subjects?

A. Ms. Naily Aure for Earth Sciences and Intro to Chem, Ms. Kathy Niebre for statistics

and trigonometry, Reynaldo Nana for Math3, Paz Cuevas for Math4 and Oliver

Nierre for Chemistry and Physics.

Q. Can we have their contact numbers?

A. I’m sorry, we do not give out contact numbers of our teachers

Q. After our last meeting sir, we have concluded and arranged for a particular subject,

which was physics, where we would propose our educational game for our thesis. We

were given the task by our thesis coordinator to justify on why should we use physics

as a subject of our thesis. In your own presumption, why physics?

A. I think that is a question we do not have to answer. Admittedly we all became students

and when we talk about physics, it is really a hard subject indeed. It is because it is a

combination of science and mathematics, where you are not only given the solution

and you solve for it with mental math, a calculator or whatsoever. It needs analysis

and for some cases it needs an individual to derive his own solution from a set of

given formulas that physics give out.

Q. Thank you sir, we think we could accomplish the task that was given to us with the

use of the data we have gathered here today. But could we also gain access on that

record from last year you have mentioned a while ago, so it could support the data

recorded in this transcript?

A. Yes, maybe we can provide you that once you come back
Q. Could we also conduct an interview with your students to see how they perceive the

subject?

A. Yes of course, just let me know when you will conduct it so that we could schedule it

with the teachers.

Q. Finally sir, if ever we are to implement our thesis project with your students, is there

an available computer laboratory in your school?

A. Yes there is.
