An ELV is basically any vehicle that has
come to the end of its useful life.The main
objectives of the Directive are to try to
minimise the amount of waste generated
from the ELV disposal process, while
also reducing any adverse environmental
impacts caused through current
dismantling practices.

TCD also has a baler which is capable of
baling 25 cars an hour.The compacted cars
are then sent off for recycling.
Authorised treatment facilities
The frm is now an authorised treatment
facility and will give you a Certifcate of
Destruction (CoD) straight away if it
agrees to take your vehicle. Itll also tell
DVLA youre no longer responsible for
the vehicle. Keep the certifcate as proof
the vehicle has been destroyed and youre
no longer responsible for it.TCD will
arrange for the vehicle record at DVLA,
to be updated with a Notifcation of
Destruction.
EARLY signs are that a 60% recycling rate
was achieved by Pembrokeshire residents in
2013/14.
80% of households are now regularly recycling
through the orange bag scheme and over 55% are
using the food waste collection service.
