Kurdistan Region Gas development
200 tcf of recoverable natural Gas
Once domestic demands met, gas will find its way to the Markets.
Central gas processing facilities are being developed at the Miran gas
field.
By 2016, 6 bcmof gas is expected to be flow to Turkey.
Domestic gas pipeline network development underway.
176-kilometre pipeline takes gas from the Khor Mor field to power
generation plants in Erbil and Sulaimaniyah and to Khurmala.
The pipeline passes close to other gas fields and will have spare
capacity to transport additional volumes of gas in the future.
The gas pipeline will be extended from Khurmala to Fish Khabur, on
the border with Turkey.
A 30-kilometre interconnector pipeline from Summail field to Duhok
power plant is also under construction, so that the plant, which is
currently running on diesel/light fuel, will run on gas by November
2013.
