ECBD is a silver wound dressing that uses a unique kind of silver technology: silver oxysalts. Silver
oxysalts offer higher oxidation states of silver* (Ag2+, Ag3+) capable of interacting with microbial
DNA, proteins and lipids, as well as provide potent oxidizing action through the increased power
of Ag2+,3+ for advanced biocidal activity. Consequently, exsaltT7 has the ability to powerfully
interact with microbes without needing a high content of silver to be effective*. exsaltT7s silver
oxysalts technology, combined with a low silver content, makes the dressing less toxic* to the
wound environment and more gentle* to use. exsaltT7 has also demonstrated only a nominal
shift in pH, providing comfort for your patientswithout sacricing biocidal activity. In addition, the
combination of unique silver technology and low silver content means the silver dressings can be
produced efciently and at a low production cost, resulting in a cost-efcient dressing.* This means
potential cost savings for the management of wounds!
ECBD consists of two outer layers of non-adherent high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with an inner
layer of absorbent polyester, which has comparable absorbency to other synthetic bre silver wound
dressings*. All layers are coated with silver oxysalts. ECBD can absorb ve times its weight (dry
mass). If more exudate absorption is required, ECBD is compatible with other secondary dressings.
It can also be used in conjunction with other advanced wound care technologies.
Current Tactical Trauma Protocols state in extended care to change dressings every
24 hours. Consider converting to silver impregnated dressings to reduce frequency

ECBD can be placed on at the point of wounding and can remain in

a stronger attraction for electrons than silver in the
1+ state (Ag+), making them more likely to react with
other species to gain those electrons for balance.
Hence, Ag2+ and Ag3+ oxidation states are more
active than silver Ag+ and therefore highly effective at
killing microbes even with a low content of silver.*
