Interview Briefings

1. Madalena
She rarely eats sandwiches but is willing to pay a significant price when she does. She
knew the Pretzel but did not know we could do a sandwich with it. She has been
attracted by our product.

2. Ines
Ines eats sandwiches for snack. She did not know the Pretzel and thought it was a Bage
when she saw the picture. Thus, shed id not understand the specificity of our sandwich.
Nevertheless she has been attracted by our product which shows that, the fact some
Portuguese people do not know Pretzel, is not an obstacle for us.

3. Joao
Joao usually eats at McDonalds because it is near his school. He also knew the Pretzel but
not the sandwich. He is very interested and would pay as much as he pays in McDonald
which is encouraging for us, since McDonalds is one of our main competitor.

4. Bernardo
Bernardo eats sandwiches mainly for lunch. He tries as much as possible to eat healthy
food but he also goes to fast food restaurants such as McDonalds. He recognized the
Pretzel and would eat it with mustard, as they do in the USA. He appreciated our
sandwich : looks good

5. Gonalo
Gonalo eats everyday at the cafeteria of his college. He knows the pretzel and would eat
it without anything. He said he would buy our sandwich but did not understand in what
extent it was different. This means, we would have to work on our marketing compaign
in order to explain our value proposition.

6. Omar
Omar eats sandwiches and preferes healthy ingredients. He did not know the Pretzel
but is willing to try, as well as the sandwich. He even have a good willingness to pay :
3,50 euros for the sandwich alone.

7. Pedro
Pedro eats sandwiches at the cafeteria of his school. He wants healthy ingredients and
warm bread. He knew the Pretzel and is interested in our sandwich as long as he likes its
ingredients.

8. Pedro
Pedro eats sandwiches on a weekly basis and buy them in shopping malls. This fact is
interesting for our location. He did not know the Pretzel but wants to try the sandwich
since the bread looks fine .




9. Maria
Maria eats sandwiches regularly. She usually goes to Vitaminas, Companhia das Sandes
and Empadaria do Chef when she eats on the go. She likes warm bread and is willing to
pay 5 euros for our sandwich to which she gave a 7 out of 10.


10. Hugo
Hugo prefers eating sandwiches at lunch and rarely at dinner. He likes warm bread
depending on the ingredients. He directly recognized the Pretzel that he would eat on
the go such as our sandwich. Nevertheless he did not like the ingredients of our MVP.
This leads us to work on an important product portfolio in order to satify as much
customers as possible.

11. Paulo
Paulo is not into healthy food and eat sandwiches twice a week. He is a fond of pretzels
and love eating them with mustard but on the go he would not add anything soi t is more
convenient. He gave an 8 out of 10 to our sandwich and would buy it for sure.

12. Ins
Ins eats sandwiches at Lunch and Snack. Yet the sandwich she eats as a snack has to be
smaller than the one for lunch. She knew the Pretzel but pronounced Bretzel (which
happened a few times). She would buy both the Pretzel and the Sandwich and would
paya round 3,75 euros for the sandwich.

13. Joao
Joao can eat sandwiches for lunch, snack and even dinner sometimes. He eats at the
McDonald that is close to its school. The plain Pretzel is a mid snack for him.

14. Pedro
Pedro eats healthy food and likes his bread to be warm. He knew the Pretzel but would
have prefered tasting it before evaluating it. He liked how our sandwich looks like but
did not see the difference between a common sandwich and our.

15. Raquel
Raquel eats sandwiches at lunch when she is in a hurry. The only thing she would add to
our Pretzel is butter.

16. Gonalo
Gonalo eats sandwiches for Breakfast. He lives in Oeiras and commutes everyday to
Lisbon by car. He does not like fast food and take away and said that there are too many
take out places in Lisbon. He is a Pretzel lover since he lived in Germany and
Switzerland. He loves it warm with strawberry sauce. He would pay 4 euros for such a
sandwich.

17. Pedro
Pedro eats sandwiches just for snacks. He said that Lisbon lacks of take out places after 2
am, only McDonald, but the nit is too expensive for him. Pedro recognized the shape of
the Pretzel but only knows the little ones that are sweet and that we have at parties ; He
thinks there is no places in Lisbon to buy them. As he does not know the taste, he would
buy it only after a good marketing campaign.

18. Sofia
Sofia eats sandwiches occasionally. She does not often goes to take away places, she
prefers having lunch in a real restaurant next to her office. She pays attention to her
health and is careful about the ingredients she puts in her sandwich. Shed id not know
the Pretzl and confuse dit with the Portuguese bread they sell in pastelerias for Easter.
Yet she would try the sandwich and is willing to pay 4 euros for it.

19. Joshua
Joshua comes from the US and commutes everyday to his work. He eats sandwiches a
lot ! but he is very careful about his money. He loves Pretzels and eat them lightly salty
with mustard. He is willing to pay more than usual in order to find back this taste that he
is missing in Portugal.

20. Nikolett
Nikolett is from Hungary and decided to settle in Portugal. She eats sandwiches for
lunch. She buys take away in shopping centers. She knows the Pretzels. She loves it
when the salt melts so it looks like cheese. It is called Bavarian Bread in Hungary so
she knew we could do sandwiches out of it.

21. Juan
Juan is a colombian tourist in Lisbon. During his stay he will take the metro 4 times. The
warmth of his bread depends on the season : warm in Winter and cold in Summer. He
knows the Pretzel and would buy the Plain Pretzel and the Sandwich.

22. Sora
Sora comes from France and eats sandwiches 4 times a week. She is disappointed
though because in the pastelarias it is always the same. Thus she likes our sandwich
because it looks different.

23. Margarida
Margarida eats sandwiches for breakfast in pasteleria because she does not have time
otherwise to eat before to go to work. She knows the Pretzel but never taste dit so she
could not rate it but would buy the sandwich.

24. Joana
Joana eats sandwiches for lunch at the cafeteria of her school. Otherwise she prefers to
eat outside more rarely but spending more so that she can eat in a restaurant. She
knows the Pretzel but never bought it. She would buy our sandwich and the price would
depend on its size.

25. Manon
Manon eats sandwiches when she is outside. She knows the Pretzel but does not like the
fact that it would be sold in the metro because of the hygiene. She does not find our
sandwich very original so she is not really enthusiastic.


26. Sarah
Sarah is a tourist from Morrocco. She came to spend a long week end with her family in
Lisbon. She eats sandwiches regularly. In Lisbon she went to buy the ingredients in
Pingo Doce and did her own sandwiches because she is traveling on a shoestring. She
knows the Pretzel and would eat it for 5 euros in a menu.

27. Sonia
Sonia is Sarahs mother. She eats sandwiches all the time because she does not have
much time with her work.
She knows the Pretzel but never ate it. She would paya round 6 to 7 euros for tis
sandwich.

28. Ines
Ines is traveling with her mother and her siser. She eats sandwiches for lunch and
dinner. She knows the Pretzel and eat it salty. She would pay 1,5 for the Plain Pretzel.

29. Ana
Ana eats sandwiches always at home. When she needs to eat outside on the go, she takes
a soup in a small caf. She loves hot sandwiches. She knows the Pretzel but never tasted.
She would eat it with butter. She would buy the sandwich if the bread is not too salty
and ould pay maximum 5 euros for it.

30. Antonio
Antonio eats sandwiches at home. He likes the alentejano bread and directly recognized
the Pretzel even if he never tasted it. He would buy our sandwich but more out of
curiosity than out of interest.

31. Dorel
Dorel eats sandwiches for lunch since it is more convenient for his work as a builder . He
recognized the shape of the Pretzel but said Bretzel . He would try ou porduct if we
are located on his way to work.

32. Nuno
Nuno is a commuter. He takes the metro every morning and every evening to go to his
office. He eats sandwiches often for this reason, especially for breakfast so he does not
arrive with an empty stomach. He knows the Pretzel and would try it if it is not more
then 4 euros.

33. Denis
Denis is a dentist and eats sandwiches that he does at home. He needs to eat sandwiches
since he has only 10 minutes to eat. He knows the Pretzel but would not buy it since
he does not really like take away food.

34. Rita
Rita is a student and eats sadwich for lunch at the cafeteria of her school. It is convenient
since she does not have to walk much and it is fast. Nevertheless she is tired of eating the
same sandwiches all the time. She would buy our sandwiches if they were sold in her
university.

35. Leslie
Leslie is an Erasmus student and spends one year in Lisbon studiyng architecture. She
eats sandwiches when she has classes and does not have time to cook. She would buy
our sandwich if it costs nothing more than 3 euros because she has a very low budget.


36. Claire
Claire is an Erasmus student from Belgium (the Dutch part) and is studying in Lisbon for
one semester. She knows the Pretzels and love it. She is excited about finding a place
where she can buy them in Lisbon. She is also interested by the sandwich and would pay
3,50 euros for it.

37. Bruno
Bruno is a surf teacher. He comes everyday to pich up his pupils in Lisbon. Thus often he
does not have much time for breakfast and for lunch. He recognized the shape of the
Pretzel but never tasted it. He liked that our sandwich looks fat . As a surfer, he needs
good meals like this.

38. Matthias
Matthias is a German tourist who spends a long week end in Lisbon. During his stay he
prefers walking in order to see most of the city but he said he will likely use the metro 4
times. He knows the Pretzel and is surprised to learn that there is no place where he can
buy it in Lisbon. Nevertheless, during his stay he prefers to eat Portuguese food.

39. Manuel
Manuel is a German student at Nova for one year and a half. He loves Pretzel and misses
them. He knows the sandwiches and would love to buy them occasionnally for a price up
to 4,5 euros.

40. Sarah
Sarah is a German Erasmus student. She spent 5 months in Lisbon. She loves Pretzel and
has been asking to her visitors to bring some of them in Portugal. She would buy the
plain Pretzel and the sandwich on a regular basis. Nevertheless, it has to be cheap
because she prefers to spend her money in typical Portuguese restaurants.

41. Helena
Helena is Sarahs sister and came to visit her for a week in Lisbon. She loves Pretzels and
would like to see the difference with the German Pretzels.

42. Paulo
Paulo lives in Switzerland but his parents are Portuguese so he took a gap year to live
and Lisbon and practise Portuguese. He is a delivery guy so he needs to eat fast and good
food so he is not hungry on his way. He is a Pretzel lover and has been missing their
taste in Lisbon, so he would buy them regularly.

43. Lana
Lana is a German student. She does not eat that much Pretzels at home even though she
likes the taste. In Lisbon she would eat it rarely with German friends, she prefers to
discover Portuguese food
44. Mai
Mai comes from Cologne. She eats sandwiches regularly because of her student life
style . Yet she tries to stay healthy so she prefers healthy ingredients. She would buy ou
sandwich if it is cheap, no more than 3 euros.

45. Miguel
Miguel is a Portuguese student who did his exchange in Germany. He eats sandwiches
regularly. We interviewed him during our tasting and he told us that our Pretzels were
better than the one he had in Germany

46. David
David lives in Porto but he comes to Lisbon often for work and vacations since he has
friends in the capital. He knew it was a pretzel but never ate any. He would like to try the
plain Pretzel before tring the sandwich. He would buy the pretzel if it is no more than 1
euro.

47. Pedro
Pedro is a tourist guide so he eats sandwiches when he works because he has to do it
quickly. He knows Pretzels and already had a few. He would like to try them in Lisbon.

48. Lucas
Lucas is a surfer. He thinks there are enough take out in Lisboa but not around or it is
always the same. He likes Pretzels and would like to find back their taste in Lisbon.
