LEADERSHIP

Leadership is a potent combination of strategy and character. But if you must be without
one, be without the strategy. Norman Schwarzkopf
John C. Maxwell states that Leadership is influence. Leadership is the ability to inspiring
or influencing others to strive the leader towards the leaders goal. Leadership has been
described as "a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and
support of others in the accomplishment of a common task". Dwight D. Eisenhower
defines leadership as the art of getting someone else to do something you want done
because he wants to do it. To be a good leader one must know his purpose and vision
in life, he must experienced to be under an authority and he must have a life coach.
There are different characteristics to be a good leaders. The ible gives twelve
twelve inspiring leadership lessons that we must know. Leaders do whats right even if they are
alone. Leaders embrace the unknown. Leaders endure in spite of circumstances. Leaders stick up for their
people. Leaders rule by example rather than command. Leaders are not afraid of giants. Leaders rise to the
occasion. Leaders maintain their resolve without regard for consequences. Leaders arent afraid to call out the
phonies. Leaders are servants. Leaders recover from failure. Leaders are passionate for what they believe in
Purpose
!urpose is the ob"ect toward which one strives or for which something exists# an
aim or a goal. $t is the result or effect that is intended or desired# an intention. %ll of us
exist for a certain purpose. &ur purpose in life starts from the day we are born. &ur
purpose in life is not easy to figure, it will takes time for us to reali'e what our true
purpose are. %s time goes by, our purpose in life changes depend on how our
perspective. %ccording to Dalai Lama, "The important thing is that men should have a
purpose in life, it should be something useful, something good".
!urpose have four principles. the first one is that "DE($)* follows purpose". $t
means that if you design something your purpose is to make it come true.
The second is "purpose determines D$+E,T$&*". &ur direction in life is determined
by our purpose. &ur chosen purpose may lead us to the right path or to the other side.
-e must carefully in choosing our purpose in life.
The third is "DE($+E( fuels purpose". $f one desires something to happen, his
purpose will be centered in achieving that.
%nd the last is "purpose is D$.$*E". &ur purpose in life is divine, because it is from
)od. &nly )od can determine our true purpose in life. /rom the day we are )od already
gave us our purpose and it is up to uds to determine and accomplish it. &nce we
determine our purpose in life we can make a vision for it to happen.
Vision
.ision is an aspirational description of what we would like to achieve or accomplish
whether it is a short term or long term. $t serves as a clear guide for choosing current
and future action courses. %ccording to 0elen 1eller, "The most pathetic person in the
world is someone who has sight, but has no vision". This only means that a person who
have no vision, have no direction in life.
%ll of us have different visions in life. $t is something we want to do or something we
want to be in the future. &ur visions in life are not impossible to attain, we only need to
work hard in attaining these. &nce our purpose in life is determined, visions comes in.
through our visions, we can make our purpose a reality.
The importances of vision are 234 without vision, people !E+$(0 and 254 without
vision, people cast off +E(T+%$*T.
% good vision has three 6ualities. The first is "a good vision must be $))E+ than
you are". &ur vision in life should not only be small but big. This is because )od always
have a greater vision for us. 0e always have a greater plan for us. The second is "it
must be L&*)E+ than your lifetime". This means that our vision in life must be
remembered. it must be something that will leave mark to the people7s heart. The third
is "it must be )+E%TE+ than your cause".
Authority
ccording to !ebrews "#$%& '(emember your leaders& those who spoke to you the word of
)od. Consider the outcome of their way of life& and imitate their faith. * To be a good leader
he must experienced to be under an authority. efore we can be good leaders, we must
first be able to be a good follower. $f we start in being a follower, we will know the things
that we should do when we became a leader. ll leaders must be great followers and obedience is
the key to greatness.
There are four authorities we need to obey. The first one is our TE%,0E+(. &ur
teachers are considered as our second parents because we spend half of our day at
school. They guide and help us inside or outside of the school. -e must listen to them
because they teach us the things that we should know.
The second is the )&.E+*8E*T. -e must obey the government because the
government set rules and regulations that we must follow.
The third is our !%+E*T(. -e must obey our parents because they know what is
the best for us. They will not let something happens to us. &ur parents give us life. &ur
security is the most important for them. To show that we obey them we should honor
them. "0onor your father and mother. Then you will live a long life.9 This the fourth of the
ten commandments that )od gave to us. This is the first command that )od have with a
promise. %ccording to (irach :;5<=, 35<3>, ?-hoever honors his father atones for his
sins, he who gives glory to his mother prepares a treasure for himself. -hoever glorifies
his father will have a long life. -hoever obeys the Lord gives comfort to his mother.9
There are many ways to show that we honor our parents. This can be shown by
listening to them. $f we listen to what our parents are telling us, we can show that we
honor them. The second is by the way we speak to them. They can tell that we honor
them if we talk to them politely and with good manners. The third is by obeying them.
The last is by showing responsibility. -e must be responsible enough to accomplish the
responsibilities our parents gave to us. -e must also show respect to our parents. The
most important is by showing how much we love and care for them.
The fourth and the most of all we must obey is the )&D. )od gave us ten
commandments that we must obey. -e must obey )od, because 0e is the one that
gave us life. 0e is the reason why we exist in life. -e must obey 0im because 0e trust
us and 0e gave us his only son to save us from our sins. &beying the commands of
)od means that we love 0im.
Internal Government
% good leader must know the internal government. $nternal government is the first
source of government. This refers to the individual@s actions being governed in his heart.
$t is were an individual is doing what is right on his own.
eing able to lead yourself is the key to leading others. -e must have discipline in
ourselves. There are three principles of internal government. The first one is you can@t
govern others if you can@t govern A&B+(EL/. This means that before you can lead
others, you must first discipline yourself. &thers will not follow a leader who cannot
follow his own rules.
The second is the less internal government you have, the more ECTE+*%L
government you will re6uire. The third is the internal government comes through )&D.
Life Coach
% life coach helps us to move forward and to find fulfillment, success, well<being and
happiness. They help us to move through that obstacles that we are facing. They guide
us through a life transition. They are always by your side to listen and guiding you to
find your path, truth and answers to problems. life coach helps you to accomplish your
goals& make new changes& and live your dreams.
+ur life coach are our ,(-./0. /hey are always at our side no matter what happens to us.
/hey will not leave us when we have problems instead they will guide us and help us in solving
those problems. /hey also give us advice when we down.
1e should learn from L-2-(0. Leaders can help us to become good leaders. /hey know
how to solve problems because in their quest for attaining to be good leaders& they have
encountered those problems and be able to solve them. s other says& 'experience is the best
teacher in life*.
1e must ,(3+(3/34- our time with our coaches. 1e must spend more time in listening to
our coach because during those times we can learn more from them. 3f we spend more time with
them& they can give us proper guidance and good advice. 1e can also know how they deal with
the problems they encountered and learn from them.
1e must coach .+/!-( person. 3n ,roverbs 5%$"%& 's iron sharpens iron& so one mans
sharpens another*. 3f we learn to be a good leader& we must also coach others what we have
learned. 1e must motive and help each one of us.
