corrupt and unhelpful.

And, they dont think very much of

the schools. There are also many pagan rituals, some
physical. These are all things we would like to address, we
also know this could take quite a bit of time. We need to
build relationships with everyone, help out when we can
(farming, building etc.), we need for them to see Christ in
us and then begin to verbally share Christ. The ultimate
goal is for them to become a Christian community and
share Christ with others and so on.
NEEDS
We have to bring up financial support. We are in need of
more supporters, some have dropped off for different
reasons ( death, loss of jobs .) life happens. If youre not
a financial partner and would like to be, its very easy. Our
3rd page of the newsletter explains how. Or just contact
us, info also on the 3rd page. If your already a partner and
want to increase, the same instructions would apply.
More and More at Home
The Goshorns Step by Step
We have been feeling more and more at home this last
month. At the beginning of the month we were invited to
walk in a parade for Christ with a local church. When we
walked past a local store, the owner, whom weve stopped
in and talked with on previous occasions, saw us and
decided to come to church the following week. You never
know how the Holy Spirit will work:) Two days later we
walked quite a distance with about 150 people from the
same church to a river for more than 40 baptisms. This was
a huge celebration and a huge blessing again to witness the
Holy Spirit at work. What has been really great is that we
feel like we belong among this community. We were also
invited to some new friends home to eat and spend the day
with them.
Also this month, a team of college students came for a
week to work with some missionaries here, and Daniel had
the opportunity to translate for them. This was a great
opportunity for him. Daniel and Jennifer will be traveling
to the jungle June 12th with a medical team from the
States. Jennifer will be assisting/translating for a dentist,
and Daniel will be translating for the eye team. It will be a
two day journey for them to get there, including an 8 hour
boat ride. There will be no water, electricity or beds, so
please keep them in your prayers.
Tim is trying to learn as much as he can about the
community by talking to lots of different people. This is
what he has learned; the Peruvian people here do not help
each other, this was a surprise. There is much abuse in the
family and a drug and alcohol problem among the youth.
The consensus is that the government and police are

This has been a good month. We are in a groove, making friends, meeting
others in ministry and being a part of the neighborhood. The transition has been
smooth, yet, I feel like who I am has somehow gotten lost in this transition phase. I
have been so busy doing and not being. So busy homeschooling Katie, setting up
home, preparing lessons for three different English classes, learning Spanish,
reading Spanish discipleship books and just learning my way around town that I
have forgotten about me. Going through the
motions of transition and feeling like who I am
has disappeared along the way.
I have realized that we need to be more intentional about who we are and
what makes us feel alive with purpose. We will have to prioritize, give up things we
thought we needed but are really just clutter and distractions. Change is hard, habits
difficult to break and stepping out of our comfort zone can be scary. Sometimes its
hard to find the motivation, but, if we change what is holding us back or stalling our
journey and exchange the clutter for what we really need we will find Him waiting,
showing us who we were meant to be.

We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.
-Maya Angelou

It is difficult, sometimes impossible, to be still and listen to God and to really
discover what fills you with purpose and peace. The word Selah means to pause
and reflect During the chaos of our lives, when things dont make sense, when we
cant find our purpose, when we no longer know who we are or have no idea what
tomorrow may look like, when we are drowning in life, we need Selah.
This can look like so many things; reading to our children, sitting on the front
porch watching the sunset, going for a walk with our husband, simply letting go and
enjoying the moment we are in. This is something I know is difficult, especially for
mothers with so many responsibilities and people to take care of. We tend to feel
responsible for everything and everyone dont we?

Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.

Be aware of what the Holy Spirit is saying and feeling. Dont dismiss the whispers because there are too many
things to do. Take your time and make the changes you need to be who you are meant to be.

When peace eludes us we replace it with doubt. We doubt ourselves, our relationships, our God.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trust in thee. Isaiah 26:3

Par t ner wi t h us
God has been very clear that we
cannot do anything alone. First we
need Him, then we need His
followers to help us. Without the
Body of Christ behind us, we will
never be effective ministers of
Gods word. When someone
partners with us, financially or
through prayer, they are just as
much a part of Gods work as we
are.

How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of those who bring
good news,
who proclaim peace,
who bring good tidings,
who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion,
Your God reigns!

del que anuncia la paz,
del que trae nuevas del bien,
del que publica salvacin,
del que dice a Sin: Tu Dios reina!
