1.1 INTRODUCTION
To reach the old age is a blessing; to have a place to
retire to, is a security and peace of mind.
(http://queenofpeacemission.org) In many years of divine services
and life dedication to church and people as well as to God, in
appreciation to the Diocese and Priest of their equity and charity,
religious works and affirmation of their personal dedication; a
proper and descent financial support and medical care should be
given to them as well as a place that they could call their home.
They retire and relieved of their assignment because of
the increasing burden of age, which makes them incapable
to fulfill their duty properly and fruitfully (Joseph H. Fichter
journal for scientific study of religion, 1985). According to Fr.
Manuel Kim Reblora Camo, a retired priest and living
independently and live by faith. He said that the problem is when
they aged; they realize that they need someone that will take care
of them, basic medical care and a proper dwelling to live in. And
some choose to stay to parishes that they serve in, however they
become a burden when they got ill.
As generations get closer for retirement, there is a pressing
need to provide for the men who have so faithfully served God and
His people. In this circumstance the development should cater
services that help the users to envision a joyful, relaxing, and fruitful
future. The services provided by this project aims to aid the
improvement of growth of membered retirees. The Retirement
Home for Diocese of Legazpi provides design solutions that are
appropriate to the users, wherein the combination of lifestyle and
medical care are the primary objectives. The goal is not to
disconnect the retirees to the world and be an exile and be treated
as isolated but rather to give them their own peaceful place to
