The Fingerprint of Elijah

A Look at the Life of Elijah

and
The Spirit of Elijah
as Found in the Scriptures
By Roger Carter
Mal 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before
the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
Mal 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the
children, and the heart of the children to their fathers,
lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
So lets ask ourself, how did Elijah do this in the Old
Testament and how did the spirit of Elijah do this in the
New Testament? These are questions we want to ask
ourselves. Especially when we have people claiming to be
speaking in the spirit of Elijah. So let us now look at
how Elijah did this and lets see what King Ahab thought
about Elijah.
I Kings 18:15-18
And Elijah said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before
whom I stand, I will surely shew myself unto him to day.
16 So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him: and
Ahab went to meet Elijah. 17 And it came to pass, when
Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he
that troubleth Israel? 18 And he (Elijah) answered, I
have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy fathers house,
in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the
LORD , and thou hast followed Baalim.
So you see? Ahab had been persuaded by Jezebel his wife
(she was the daughter of Ethbaal King of the Zidonians)
to hunt down and kill all the prophets of God. Ahab then
replaced Gods levitical priests with more universal,
Baalim friendly priests. The children of Israel at this
time were replacing the worship of Elohim who brought
them out of Egypt with the worship of Baal. Then Ahab
has the gaul to accuse Elijah of troubling Israel!! So next
we see how Elijah turned the hearts of the fathers unto
the hearts of the children and the hearts of the children
to their fathers. This was not done in a warm and fuzzy
manner. Ahab's soldiers had already killed all the other
prophets of God. Yet Elijah was unmoving. We see what
Elijah says next.
I Kings 18:19-21 Now therefore send, and gather to me all
Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four
hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four
hundred, which eat at Jezebels table. 20 So Ahab sent
unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets
together unto mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came unto all
the people, and said, How long halt ye between two
opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal,
then follow him. And the people answered him not a
word.
They could not answer him, for they were raised
worshipping the true God, but had backsliden and
forgotten the commandments of God. By ignoring the
doctrine that was handed down to them. The Pope, Tony
Palmer, Kenneth Copeland and virtually all protestant
churches now want to do the same exact thing. Turning
back to the traditions and experience based worship
(example: kundalini, meditation, mysticism/divination,
spiritual formation and experience thought concepts)
and ignoring the doctrinal divides between them all,
turning back into the fold of the Vatican, the mother of
harlots in Revelation 17, modern Babylon also known as
the King of the North in the book of Daniel and the Beast
of Revelation 13.1. In essence they are doing the same
exact thing as the priests of Baal did back then. Baal did
not prevent the worship of other gods, most pagan
religions didn't, it was viewed as light from another angle
so to speak. Elohym forbids this and so did Jesus. Elijah
literally calls them all out. Lets see what he says here.
22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain
a prophet of the LORD; but Baals prophets are four
hundred and fifty men. 23 Let them therefore give us two
bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves,
and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire
under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it
on wood, and put no fire under: 24 And call ye on the
name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the
LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be
God. And all the people answered and said, It is well
spoken. 25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal,
Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first;
for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but
put no fire under. 26 And they took the bullock which was
given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of
Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear
us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And
they leaped upon the altar which was made. 27 And it
came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said,
Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is
pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he
sleepeth, and must be awaked. 28 And they cried aloud,
and cut themselves after their manner with knives and
lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. 29 And it
came to pass, when midday was past, and they
prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening
sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to
answer, nor any that regarded.
So what did Elijah challenge here exactly, he pointed out
their division in order to bring the children of Israel back
into the worship of God, he did NOT see Baalim worship
as another light. Ahab, Jezebel and the priests of Baal
had murdered the prophets of God and replaced them,
you see while the children of Israel had backsliden Ahab
had promoted that backsliding and even facilitated it and
then as we saw when he met with Elijah he accused
Elijah of troubling the children of Israel!!! Are you
kidding me! This is the same thing being done now, the
Christian world is being blended together, and brought
back into the fold of the Vatican, so are all the other
religions in an attempt to bring all faiths together,
replacing the Word of the LORD with Tradition and
doctrines that run contrary to what any of the prophets
or Jesus taught. Just as Ahab accused Elijah, Tony
Palmer accuses any who hold to the Biblically prophetic
truth that was provided by Christ Jesus no less, as
spiritually racist (I will address that at the end) I
digress. We see exactly what Elijah did next.
And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me.
And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired
the altar of the LORD that was broken down. 31 And
Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the
tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the
LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name: 32 And
with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD:
and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would
contain two measures of seed. 33 And he put the wood in
order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the
wood, and said (Elijah), Fill four barrels with water, and
pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. 34 And
he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the
second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And
they did it the third time. 35 And the water ran round
about the altar; and he filled the trench also with
water. 36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering
of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came
near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of
Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel,
and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these
things at thy word. 37 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that
this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and
that thou hast turned their heart back again. 38
Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt
sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and
licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 And when
all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they
said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the
God.
So we see Elijah did not say well ok so you want to
worship Baal too thats ok I am sure there are some
positive things we can learn from it as well. NO! He did
not! He did quite the opposite. So next lets take a little
look at John the Baptist, as the LORD prophesied his
birth as well through Malachi. How did John the Baptist
turn the hearts of the fathers to the hearts of the
children, lets take a closer look.
Matt 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching
in the wilderness of Judaea,
Matt 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of
heaven is at hand.
Matt 3:3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet
Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness,
Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make his paths straight.
How did John do this?
Matt 14:3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound
him, and put him in prison for Herodias sake, his brother
Philips wife.
Matt 14:4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for
thee to have her.
John pointed out Herod and Herodias's sin. He also
pointed out the sins of the Pharisees and Scribes of his
day just as Jesus had. He even went so far as to call them
a generation of vipers. Just as Jesus stated to the scribes
and Pharisees of his day. We know what the reaction was
too, Herod beheaded John and Jesus was crucified.
Matthew 3:7-10
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees
come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of
vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to
come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have
Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is
able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees:
therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is
hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Matthew 13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against
men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them
that are entering to go in.
Far from bringing people to salvation, he stated they
were preventing people from being saved. I mean thats
not warm and fuzzy. We can also see what the LORD
prophesied to Ezekiel concerning the shepherds (levitical
priests, pharisees etc. [the preachers, priests, popes etc.
of Ezekiel's day]).
9 Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;
10 Thus saith the LORD G OD; Behold, I am against the
shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and
cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall
the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver
my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for
them.
11 For thus saith the LORD GOD; Behold, I, even I,
will both search my sheep, and seek them out.
The LORD says this in more than one place in the book of
Ezekiel and quite explicitly as a matter of fact. So why
exactly did HE fire the shepherds from their job? Lets
look closer. Further down in verses 19 the LORD speaks
this concerning the shepherds.
19 And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have
trodden with your feet ; and they drink that which ye
have fouled with your feet .
The LORD is speaking specifically about Doctrine
here, not literal food and drink. That which the religious
leaders of today want you to forget and sweep under the
rug. The religious leaders were feeding GOD's flock with
polluted doctrine that had already been trodden down
and fouled with their feet meaning it was changed,
discarded, altered, used and unused or more often than
anything used out of context to suit their own needs and
desires.
Does this sound familiar? It should. If anybody claims
to speak in the spirit of Elijah but does not follow his
typological pattern and yet in fact does the opposite, they
are in fact not speaking in the spirit of Elijah and there is
no light in them.
So then what is spiritual racism? Is it even a plausible
term? I think not, it is purely a nonsensical term
designed to generate blame, worry, fear or apprehension.
More importantly it is a veiled threat meant to slip past
the majority of the flock, in the hopes it is adopted blindly
. The term seeks to cloak itself in tolarance while
displaying intolarance for true, sound biblical eschatology
or any other area of grounded biblical study. So as this is
a new term it deserves a little study.
Firstly the two words in an of themselves are
diametrically opposed and cannot present any clear
observation of any religious doctrine or stance. When the
LORDS people have been taught Beloved, be ye not
carnally minded and what have the righteous to do with
the unrighteous?. Next its impossible to declare someone
of being a spiritual racist without revealing oneself as a
bigot, as the term in an of itself is nothing but
inflamatory, and a lowbrow term at best to set a
groundwork for the ability to point the finger and/or
accuse a minority group that does not believe the same as
you.
In other words the minute that comes out of anyones
mouth they shoot themselves in the foot cognitively
speaking. Its inevitable, for you see if someone takes the
term spiritual racist and applies it in the context of its
definition, then Elijah himself would have fit the bill of a
spiritual racist for calling out all the priests of Baal!!! So
do those that would use that term and claim to be
Christian believe that about Elijah!? I would hope not but
there is definitively no way for anyone who uses that
term or other terms like it, to cognitively reason
themselves out of a hardpacked corner of Intolerance. In
other words the mere use or intentional cognitive
awakening of such a term shows the person or group to
be intolerant and inescapably in detraction. In this state
one actually accuses others of being what they actually
are. Now does this mean we as true believers should not
pray for them? Certainly not we should indeed pray for
them but not in their manner or for their reasons.
We should pray that their eyes may be opened, and
they might see their errors and repent for their deeds as
shepherds presenting meat and wine that has been
trodden down and foul, and not in accordance with the
Ten Commandments, the faith of Jesus or his teachings.
Jesus taught from the Law and the Prophets his
doctrine consisted of the two main things they wish to
disgard. This is dangerous; not for the LORDS true
believers, but for the shepherds, for in the eyes of GOD,
their own blood will not only be on their head, but also
the blood of those deceived by them.
Seek the narrow road to life eternal, for broad is the
road to eternal death.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here
are they that keep the commandments of God, and the
faith of Jesus.
Just as a rainbow has many colors, GODS people have
many colors and hence it is impossible for them to be
racist in any sense of the term.
