Existing DDF/OVP type on sites

New type Ericsson DDF Old type Ericsson DDF
For indoor sites with new TP, make ALM1~ALM4 ports of existing DDF 16 ports to report the 4 existing alarms from DDF
to Huawei BTS, ALM5~ALM8 from new TP to Huawei BTS.
For indoor sites reusing existing power, make ALM1~ALM8 ports of existing DDF 16 ports to report the 8 existing alarms
from DDF to Huawei BTS.

Page 25 HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.
In case of New type Ericsson DDF on site

Use the provided by Huawei Ethernet cables for making RG45 connection between BBU/Upper UPEU alarm ports and Ericsson
DDF/OVP box without cutting them one cable in case of TP indoor and two cables in case of reusing existing PSS
In this case the sequence of cable connections for external sensors changes as it is shown on the picture pairs ports marked
with yellow labels .

AC Mains failure alarm test procedure (Necessary)

1. Power on the system normally with battery back up;

2. Switch off the AC input breaker and wait several minutes, view the active alarm information on the LCD,
and view the alarm information on M2000 to check if the alarm is reported;

3. Switch on the AC input breaker, view the active alarm information on LCD, and view the alarm information
on M2000 to check if the alarm disappeared.

Indoor TP (TP48200B) Outdoor TP (TP48200A)
Page 30 HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.
Rectifier failure alarm test procedure (Necessary)

1. Insert a plastic stick to stop the rectifier fan and wait several minutes to check the rectifier fault. View the
active alarm information on the LCD, and view the alarm information on M2000 to check if the alarm is reported.

2. Remove the stick. View the active alarm information on LCD, and view the alarm information on M2000 to
check if the alarm disappeared.

Page 31 HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.
Smoke alarm test procedure (Optional)

Below is described the usual way to check this alarm but in this project it will be not checked

1. Spray the smoker sensor to check if the alarm is reported with OMC if they view the alarm information
on M2000.
2. Wait several minutes after the alarm is active and check with OMC if the alarm is disappeared on M2000.
Page 32 HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.
Temperature and Door open alarm test procedure

High temperature alarm test (Optional)

1. Carefully heat the temperature sensor with heat-air-gun to reach the threshold value. Keep the airflow away
from plastic details and cabinet insulation. View the active alarm information on the LCD, and view the alarm
information on M2000 to check if the alarm is reported.

2. Cool the temperature sensor or wait the temperature to be normal, view the alarm information on M2000 to
check if the alarm is disappeared.

Door open alarm test (Necessary)

1. Open the door of Cabinet or shelter to check the active alarm information on M2000 with OMC.

2. Close the door of Cabinet or shelter to check if the alarm is disappeared on M2000 with OMC.

Page 33 HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.
Air conditioner failure and D.G running alarm test procedure

Air conditioner failure alarm test (Necessary)

1. Shut down the precision air conditioner ( Floor mounted) or heat the temperature sensor of wall mounted air
Conditioner to check if there is a right alarm information on M2000 with OMC.

2. Start the precision air conditioner again and check with OMC if the alarm is disappeared on M2000.

D.G (Generator) running alarm test (Optional)

1. Start the generator to check with OMC if the alarm is reported on M2000.

2. Shut down the generator to check with OMC if the alarm is disappeared on M2000.
