1. Perform pre-installation procedures as described in the
installation documentation.
2. Find bulletins and patches.
3. Confgure BMC Remedy Action Request Server and databases.
3. Make sure databases and computers meet requirements listed in
the documentation and on the compatibility matrix:

5. Complete pre-installation worksheets, capturing required
installation parameters, such as
--AR System administrator credentials
--AR System host name, server ID, and port

Among the post-installation tasks you should perform:
1. Check the log fle for errors
2. Apply patches and updates
3. Install extensions
4. Restart the Mid Tier
5. Perform feature-specifc confguration
6. Access the BMC Atrium Core user console:
http://<midtier>:<port>/arsys
Confguring multiple instances of BMC Atrium Integration Engine
enables your data transfers to use AR System threads more efciently.
Installing BMC Atrium Web Services components on a separate
computer can reduce CPU load for heavy web services trafc scenarios.
Installing all BMC Atrium Core features on a single computer is only
recommended for very small, or non-production environments.

Install BMC Atrium Core
The diagram depicts an example deployment of BMC Atrium Core. Your deployment may vary depending
on your needs. The requirements shown are not the only requirements necessary , and your requirements
will be diferent, depending on your confguration.
You can choose to install one or more of the following features:
BMC Atrium CMDB
BMC Atrium Impact Simulator
BMC Atrium Web Services
BMC Atrium Web Services Registry
Atrium Integrator (recommended only for new data transfers between external
data sources and BMC Atrium CMDB)
BMC Atrium Integration Engine (recommended for existing data transfers between
external data sources and BMC Atrium CMDB)
