El articulo indefinido a-an no es tan complejo, pues su equivalente en espaol es
simplemente un, una, unos, unas, pero lo que si dificulta un poco de este articulo,
es su pronunciacin y en que casos se usa o a o an asi que espero que este
articulo sea de mucha utilidad para que puedas diferenciar y aprenderte de una
vez por todas como y en que casos se usa el articulo indefinido a o an
Se usa a delante de una palabra que empieza con consonante o h aspirada. Sin
embargo, a se transforma en an cuando la palabra que la sigue empieza por vocal
o h muda.
Ejemplos:
a boy = un chico.
a woman = una mujer.
a soldier = un soldado.
a house = una casa.
an actor = un actor.
an engineer = un ingeniero.
an egg = un huevo.
an hour = una hora.
Sin embargo, atencin a las palabras que empiezan por vocal pero tienen el
sonido iu (llevan el artculo indefinido a).
Ejemplos:

a useful book = un libro til.
a university = una universidad.
Se usa el artculo indefinido a/an delante de la nacionalidad de las personas
usadas como nombres.
Ejemplos:
a Spaniard = un espaol.
a Frenchman = un francs.
a German = un alemn.
an American = un americano.
an Italian = un italiano.
an Irishman = un irlands.
Delante de profesiones:
Ejemplos:
I am a teacher = Soy profesor/a.
He is an architect = El es arquitecto.
Peter is a writer = Pedro es escritor.
You are an engineer = T eres ingeniero.
Tambin se usa a/an delante de religiones.
Ejemplos:
He is a Christian = l es cristiano.
She is a Moslem = Ella es musulmana.
I am an Evangelist = Soy evangelista.
Y delante de hundred, thousand, million.
Ejemplos:
a hundred pounds = cien libras.
a million pesetas = un milln de pesetas.
a thousand men = mil hombres.
Se usa a/an en las siguientes frases:
60 miles an hour = 60 millas por hora.
Two pounds a dozen = Dos libras la docena.
Fifty pesetas a kilo = A cincuenta pesetas el kilo.
