Everything was lovingly crafted using materials
ranging from platinum to tin, gold to pewter.
They combined this with the four main
precious gems; diamond, emerald, ruby and
sapphire as well as semi-precious stones.
Amber, morganite, and amethyst, were
used with copper and diamonds to create
something completely unique and
totally bespoke.
Today the jewellery we make still embraces the
Ballantini passion for beautiful gemstones, but
also the ability to create something that is a
ftting tribute to those we love, appreciate
and admire.
In 1960s Rome, at a lavish dinner party, two
brothers from the Ballantini family - one
a talented designer and the other with a
passion for gemstones had an inspired
idea for how to say thank you to their
beautiful hostess. They would design and
make her a sapphire ring to match her
striking blue eyes.
Her response on receiving the gift was so
ecstatic they resolved to continue creating
jewellery together.
But this was no ordinary enterprise. The
brothers made jewellery simply for the
pleasure they could give to others. They
would create beautiful pieces as tokens
of love and appreciation for friends and
family; or as mementos of good times and
intimate moments shared.

This is part of the Ballantini family crest. Like our jewellery the use of the family crest is an
expression of our ethos. It represents the pride and the passion that we put into our work.
It is also a reminder of the enduring nature of our fne jewellery. The pieces that we make will

mine where the stone or stones came from and the value. When someone receives something
