UTKARSH Camp 09 at Sridham Mayapur
.
The first point in the process of
advancing in Krsna consciousness and
devotional service is that one must seek the
association of persons who are Krsna
conscious and who engage in devotional
service. Without such association one
cannot advance. Simply by theoretical
knowledge or study one cannot make any
appreciable advancement. One must give up
the association of materialistic persons and
seek the association of devotees because
without such association one cannot understand the activities of the Lord.
Generally, people are convinced of the impersonal feature of the Absolute
Truth. Because they do not associate with devotees, they cannot understand
that the Absolute Truth can be a person and have personal activities. This is a
very difficult subject matter, and unless one has personal understanding of
the Absolute Truth, there is no meaning to devotion. Service or devotion
cannot be offered to anything impersonal. Service must be offered to a
person. Non-devotees cannot appreciate Krsna consciousness by reading the
Srimad-Bhagavatam or any other Vedic literature wherein the activities of
the Lord are described; they think that these activities are fictional, because
spiritual life is not explained to them in the proper mood. To understand the
personal activities of the Lord, one has to seek the association of devotees, and by such association, when one
contemplates and tries to understand the transcendental activities of the Lord, the path to liberation is open, and he
is freed. One who has firm faith in the Supreme Personality of Godhead becomes fixed, and his attraction for
association with the Lord and the devotees increases. Association with devotees means association with the Lord.
The devotee who makes this association develops the consciousness for rendering service to the Lord, and then,
being situated in the transcendental position of devotional service, he gradually becomes perfect.

gave mesmerizing talk in which he explained the glory of Vedic life which
enchanted all the boys.
HG RadheshyamPr gave lectures on topics like Why do we put
faith in existence of Spiritual World, Spiritual World etc and everyone
relished them. HG Atul Krishna Pr lectured on Bharat Bhumi te hoile
manushya janma jar to inspire the devotees to take advantage of this birth
in India & preach to the world. Visit to place of Bhakti Vinod Thakurs
home inspired a lot reminding how he performed his devotional activities &
how he had given the message of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to the world while maintaining his family & job. On their way
back, devotees expressed their commitment and joy by increasing their rounds to 16. Bh Amol Bhi l are, GGD VOICE

OUT STATION VOICEs: After receiving spiritual understanding and training in VTW and morning classes, we
started for Utkarsh in Sri Mayapur Dham on 19
th
June. We all had great eagerness, conviction and an
understanding of the value and fortune to enter Dham. The lectures given by HG RadheShyam Pr were amazing,
heart touching, and our faith level got boosted up. He told us 'Just as a Benz car is not used for doing works like
ploughing fields, similarly this human body is not for material enjoyment!'.
We had an amazing fortune to visit Godruma dwipa where one of the
great acaryas in Gaudiya line Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur had residence. We went
in a boat on Ganges river with roaring kirtans led by HG Mandali Bhadra Pr and
HG Sadayogi Pr. In Godruma dwip, we could see a unbelievable thing, a separate
meter gauge railway lines laid exclusively for BhaktiVinod Thakur to travel in
between his home and place of work, Krishna nagar, that too given by British to
an Indian. This speaks of the glory of BhaktiVinod Thakur. Then we had a brief visit to the Samadhi of Bhakti
Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur where HG Sundar Shyam prabhu enlightened us on the qualities and glories of Bhakti
Siddhanta Saraswati.
Then next day we had a memorable visit to Gurukula to get to know the real Vedic lifestyle. Then a senior
devotee HG Anuttam Pr gave a lecture on importance of birth in India and what the responsibilities of every
Indian! Then in the afternoon we had a heart piercing drama on
Deliverance of Jagai and Madhai which revealed to us the merciful nature
of Sri Nityananda Prabhu. Some of the memorable points from lectures are
Knowing the strength of Krishna, we should have no worry or fear. His
protection is assured . Whenever we hear about Krishna our fondness
towards Him should increase in our hearts. Possession is pain.
Thus we had a very enriching experience in SriDham Mayapur
which will stay in our hearts for a long time. -Sathi sh N, 1

There was a unanimous response of the 140 girls who participated in 1
st
one time programarranged by Girls VOICE,
Pune at Patedar Bhavan. HG J ai Gopal Pr & HG Ananga Mohini Mataji were invited to speak about the importance of
Spirituality in ones life as a part of a 3 day seminar arranged for girls. Mataji gave a riveting talk in Gujarati on how we
must first understand who we are & our relation with God, the 4 problems of
life & how to solve themthrough devotional service. All these concepts were
beautifully illustrated by a presentation. Following this there was a skit
presented by Girls VOICE Pune depicting the changing times & the effect of
Kali Yuga on the sacred institution of marriage. Later HG J ai Gopal Pr further
stressed the importance of devotional service in ones life through the examples
of devotees like Sudama Vipra who want to only serve Krishna inspite of their
apparent poverty, whereas rich persons like Micheal Jackson who possess
material opulences, but die spiritually impoverished without serving the Lord.
After this the audience participated in a sweet kirtan thus introducing them to
the Holy Names!
Everyone naturally had a lot of questions after such a spellbinding session, thus spurring a new found enthusiasm
about Spirituality as the speakers clarified doubts & explained the concepts very well. Few volunteers Asha Hariyani, Udisha
Trivedi, Hemangi Oza, Ramya Thyagarajan interacted with girls inviting themfor regular programs at Temple. HG J ivanand
Pr applauded the efforts of the Gujarati community for organizing this program& thanked themfor inviting ISKCON Pune
thus giving an opportunity to present vaishnva philosophy Ramya Thyagarajan, MBA

On 11
th
July,09 HG Radheshyam Pr introduced the new system of administration of VOICE/YOGA in
which student/working devotees will lead each project under the guidance of a senior brahmacari, which is known
as the PM-PA [Project Manager Project Advisor] system. He explained his new strategies for this new semester
to make a devotees life more adventures, involving more responsibilities and challenges, in order to make them
leaders of the future. He also explained the five Ts or the five aspects of leadership which stand for
Transcendental knowledge, Toil, Time, Touch, Talent. He explained the duty of a king with respect to his
citizens saying, In Vedic times, the kings would risk their own lives for the overall welfare of the citizens unlike
the modern day rulers who have selfish agendas. The gathering was also addressed by very eminent personalities,
Shriman Krishna Kumar Goel, Chairman of Cosmos bank, and Shriman Jagannath Agarwal. Finally we ended
with the felicitation of devotees who were made the Project Managers of different VOICEs and YOGAs who were
very dynamic and dedicated to the mission of Srila Prabhupada. Bh. Sriram, GGD VOICE

Having heard of HG Krishna Smaran Pr for many a times, it has been my well
cherished desire to get the association of prabhuji. Thus it has been a very exciting
camp, adding to it was the topic on which even the leaders of the world are at doubt.
It was an intellectual journey through many skits and powerful presentations by
devotees from all VOICEs and YOGAs. We could see how a person completely ignorant
of the goal of human life and laws of the nature can consider even utter immorality to
be sanity. Even amongst the few who know the right from wrong are unable to
practice righteousness because they put Pleasure in front of Principle as explained by
prabhuji. But we saw, how a devotee is the one, who sees things from the absolute
platform and knows the right course of action in all sorts of situations of life,
ultimately to please Krishna. HG Radheshyam Pr gave a lecture on 6 types of
materialists and highlighted the connection of Srila Prabhupada to Gandhi and Srila
Prabhupada to Bhakit Siddhanta Saraswati Takur. The next day he systematically defined immorality, morality,
higher and lower morality and transcendental morality. Bh. Sri ram, GGD VOICE

Name : HG Gopalchampu das
About Gopalchampu Pr: Gopalchampu Pr is one of the dynamic devotees of IYF Pune & renders many
valuable services in Central YOGA
Academic background: Did his B.E and Diploma in Computer Technology
Major Services rendered: Cooking, Deity worship in GGD & Mayapur VOICE, Overall coordinator at Muralidhar,
YOGA Mentor and member of YOGA Governing Body.
Interests
Gopalchampu Pr: "When going gets tough, tough gets going." So there will be for sure challenges will come in our life,
but we will pass them only when we take the side of Krishna and
vaishnavas, so whenever we have choice to choose Material life or
spiritual life we must always take the side of spiritual life, that will
please our spiritual mentors and in real term it is the most right
thing to do in life. So let us get fully absorbed in KC life so there
will be no time for anything else and we will wonder how the years
have passed and anyway they will pass but choice remains with us
how to pass. So we shall always remain with devotees either
personally or with their instructions and make our life a humble
offering in the mission of Srila Prabhupada and his beloved sons
and grandsons.
: Hearing, Deity worship, cooking, serving and caring devotees, developing relationships with devotees.

Q. How were you introduced to Krsna Consciousness?
Gopalchampu Pr: One devotee name Amol Shinde Pr my senior used to follow me up till my second year of diploma,
and I attended SSD (Science of Self Discovery), EBG (Essence of Bagavad Gita) camps in temple. And then spiritually
cared by HG Mukundanand Pr, HG KrishnaKishore Pr and HG VarjaVasi Pr after the camp to make me more regular to
visit temple and also took care by giving their association in Hostel.

Q. How did V O I C E training help you in life?
Gopalchampu Pr: Actually this training gave a meaning to my life or else I was just living with no purpose. But I derived
much inspiration and faith by seeing and associating with devotees in temple. This makes ones spiritual foundation
strong to withstand against the current of material temptations. You get to know what you should be doing and why you
should be doing. And later on this training just doesn't remain as training but becomes a culture to live a Krishna
Conscious life naturally.

Q. What is your inspiration in Krishna Consciousness?
Gopalchampu Pr: As HG Caitanya Caran Pr says, "It is easy to sacrifice life, but it is glorious to live a life of sacrifice."
Which we can see in the life of Srila Prabhupada, ISKCON leaders, HG RadheShyam Pr, our Mentors, our counselors,
how much sweat and toil goes behind to make anyone into devotee. This gives me a challenge to become someday
worthy to live a life of sacrifice for the service of vaishnavas in this mission of mercy. By giving ourselves totally in
whatever capacity to become a humble, simple and sincere follower of this path of sacrifice by means of our life, money
or whatever way it is possible to do so.

Q. W hat is your message for all the V O IC E devotees?
Thank you Gopalchampu Pr
