NOUNS / SUSTANTIVOS

NOUNS: The noun is a word that denotes a person, animal or thing.

SUSTANTIVOS: El sustantivo es una palabra que designa a una persona, un animal o una cosa.

PROPER & COMMON NOUNS / SUSTANTIVOS PROPIO Y COMN

COMMON NOUNS: Common nouns name general things like tree, pencil, dog. You dont write
them with a capital letter.

SUSTANTIVOS COMUNES: Los sustantivos communes nombran las cosas en general, como un
rbol, lpiz, perro. Estos no se escriben con letra mayscula.

Example Ejemplo:

01. My dog is big. / Mi perro es grande.
02. Your pencil is small. / Su lpiz es pequeo.
03. That tree is tall. / Ese rbol est alto.

PROPER NOUNS: A proper noun name specific people or place. You write them with a capital
letter.

SUSTANTIVOS COMUNES: Un sustantivo propio nombra especficamente personas o lugares.
Se escriben con letra mayscula.

Example Ejemplo:

01. Susan is my moms name. / Susana es el nombre de mi mam.
02. Antigua Guatemala is beautiful place. / Antigua Guatemala es un hermoso lugar.

In English there are two kinds of nouns: Countable & Uncountable.

En Ingls hay dos tipos de sustantivos: Sustantivos Contables y Sustantivos Incontables.

COUNTABLE NOUNS: Nouns that can be counted, can form in the plural.

SUSTANTIVOS CONTABLES: Sustantivos que se pueden contar, pueden formarse en plural.

Example Ejemplo:

01. Girl Girls / Chica Chicas
02. Chair Chairs / Silla Sillas
03. Table Tables / Mesa Mesas

UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS: Nouns that cannot be counted. They can be formed in plurality.

SUSTANTIVOS INCONTABLES: Sustantivos que no se pueden contar. No pueden formarse en
plural.

Example Ejemplo:

01. Water Agua
02. Sand Arena
03. Sugar Azcar
04. Salt Sal
















SENTENCE STRUCTURE / ESTRUCTURA DE UNA ORACIN

Personal Pronoun + Verb + Object or Complement

Pronombre Personal + Verbo + Objeto o Complemento

Examples Ejemplos:

01. I am a girl. / Yo soy una chica Soy una chica.
02. We are a lot of pupils in a small classroom. / Nosotros somos muchos estudiantes en
un saln de clases pequeo Somos muchos estudiantes en un saln de clases pequeo.
03. She is my teacher. / Ella es mi maestra Es mi maestra.
