Organization and Governance Sesame production manual developed and used to train farmers 109 communities (14,296 farmers = 7074men, 7296 women) were sensitized on sesame production and processing 27 participants MOFA(Ministry of Food and Agriculture)=4, LCB staff=10, lead farmers=10 and SNV=3) benefited from sesame GAP trainings 5 field days organized for sesame farmers and stakeholders SARI(Savannah Agriculture Research Institute), UDS(University of Development Studies), OLAM, the Media(GNA & GBC) MoFA, NRGP) 36 enterprise sub- groups were formed from 48 already existing multipurpose co-operative societies Farmers trained on cooperative management and relationship management District level commodity fair on sesame organized 3 entrepreneurship development training workshops organised for sesame producers 462 producers who understand basic business and financial concepts and management and marketing skills 1000 producers trained on co-op development and Management
Infrastructural Development 10 demonstration field plots established in two districts 3,705kg of improved seed (S42 and Namsubani) was secured from Burkina Faso and Mali by SNV and distributed to the 920 farmers
Impact/Outreach Increased incomes and employment for 900 sesame producers.
