product(s)inahalalcertificate.

Halalcertificationcanberequestedforallproducts
includingfood,beverage,medicine,andcosmeticinthe
formsofrawmaterial,intermediateproduct,final
product,anditssupportingproduct.
Halalcertificationprocessrequestedbycompanies
includingprocessingindustry,slaughterhouse,
restaurant,cateringservice,anddistributor.
Halalcertificationprocessshallfollowthepoliciesand
procedures LPPOMMUI

Everycompanyrequestingforhalalcertification
shalldevelopandimplementHASwithminimum
HASstatusB.
HASimplementationshallbemadeinawritten
formasHASManual.
Companieswhichdonotproduceanyproducts
suchasdistributors,warehouses,retailers,
transportersareallowedtorequestforHAS
certificationtoobtainaHASstatus/certificate.

Registrationisdoneonthebasisofproductgroups.
Allproductionfacilities (includingadditionalplants,
intermediatestores,tollmanufacturing,etc.) shallbe
registered.
Certificationcanberequestedforpartsorthewholeproducts
producedbythecompany.
Incaseofretailedproductwithcertainbrandtobecertified,
allproductsofthesamebrandmarketedinIndonesiashallbe
registered.
Forrestaurantsandcateringservices,certificationrequest
shallcoverallmenusandproductssoldintherestaurant.

Coversexpensesofaudit,halalcertificate,statusof
HASimplementation/HAScertificate,laboratory
analysis(forcertainproducts),andpublicationof
JurnalHalal magazine.
Mustbepaidbeforeaudit.

4. VerificationofDocumentCompleteness
EachregistrationdocumentisverifiedbyAuditing
andHASDivision.
Auditcanbeconductedwhenregistrationdocument
iscomplete.
Ifthedocumentisincomplete,theAuditingDivision
willsendapreauditmemorandumto becompleted
bythecompany.

5.Audit
Auditisconductedbyatleasttwoauditors andprovidedwith
officialletterofassignment.
Theproductionprocessshallbeinprogress.
Auditisconductedinallfacilitiesrelatedtotheproducts
beingcertified.
Furtherauditcanbedoneifthereissomethingfoundinthe
previousaudittobeclarifiedorifthetimefortheprevious
auditisnotadequate.
Incaseofdevelopmentorrenewalinwhichanonsiteauditis
notnecessary,anondeskauditwillbedone.

6.PostAuditEvaluation
TheevaluationofauditresultsisdoneinaforumofAuditor
MeetingandFatwaCommissionMeeting.

7.LaboratoryAnalysis
Analysisofporcineisconductedformeatproducts,meat
processedproducts,andcertainproductsofriskcategory
whennecessary.
Analysisofalcoholcontentincertainproductsisalso
conductedwhennecessary.
Thesamplescanbetakenfromtheproductionsiteormarket.
8.HalalCertificateIssuance
Halalcertificate isissued
aftertheproductisstated
ashalalintheMUIFatwa
CommissionMeeting.
Halalcertificateissigned
bytheChairmanofMUI,
HeadofFatwa
CommissionofMUI,and
DirectorofLPPOMMUI.
Validityofcertificateis2
years.

LPPOMMUImayissueadditionalHalalCertificateAppendices
forthedevelopmentofproductsorfacilities/outlets.
Thedevelopmentofproducts/facilitiesshallberegistered.
Necessityofanaudit isbasedonHASstatusofthecompany.
10.RenewalofHalalCertificate
Companywhichisgoingtorenewitshalalcertificateshalldo
areregistrationbeforethevalidityofthecertificateexpires.
Therequestforrenewalwillbetreatedaccordingtothe
regulationsofHASstatus.

11.LPPOMMUILogo
CompaniesshallmakeLPPOMMUIlogoprintedon
their productpackaging.
Theinclusionofhalallogoinretailproductshall
complywiththeregulationsoftheBPOM(NADFC)

If thereisanamendmentofdata (materials,
products,facilities,orformulas,andanadditionor
reductionofdatathatarealreadyputinthe
registrationform),thecompanyshallmakean
officialwrittenreporttoLPPOMMUItobe
processedfurther.

2.IssuanceofNotificationLetter
ofOnGoingCertificationProcess
NotificationLetter isbasedonarequestfroma
company.
Fornewanddevelopmentregistration,Notification
Lettercanbeissuedaftertheauditprocessisdone.
Forrenewalregistration,NotificationLettercanbe
issuedafterregistrationforrenewalisreceivedby
LPPOMMUIatthelatesttwomonthsbeforethevalidity
ofhalalcertificateisexpiredandafterthecertification
contractfeeispaid.
NotificationLetterisvalidforthreemonthsandcanonly
berenewedonce.

3.IssuanceofNotificationLetter
ofHalalApproval
NotificationLetterofHalalApproval basedona
requestfromacompanyaftertheproductofthe
companyisstatedashalalintheMUIFatwa
CommissionMeeting.
Thisnotificationisvalidforonemonthandcannot
beextended.

4.GracePeriodofHalalCertificationProcess
Thecertificationprocessisconsideredterminated If
within3monthsthecompanydoesnotgiveany
responsetotheongoingcertificationprocess.
Ifwithinsixmonthssincethedatetheauditisdone,
thereisnoprogressinthecompletionofhalal
certificationprocess,thecompanyisconsidered
unabletomeetthecriteriaofhalal.Thecertification
processcanbecontinuedbysubmittingnew
registration.

5.RevisionofHalalCertificate
Revisionofhalalcertificateisdonebasedon:
A requestfromcompany
Itsappropriatenesswiththeregistrationformand
auditresults
Resultsofauditormeeting.
Revisionofhalalcertificatedoesnotomita
possibilityforanaudittoberedonebeforethe
revisionproposalisfulfilled.

6.LegalizationofHalalCertificate
Companiescanproposetolegalization a validMUI
HalalCertificate forcertainpurposes,like for
customsclearanceforimportedproducts.
7.UpgradingofHalalCertificate
Forlocalcompanieswhichoriginallyhavehalal
certificatefromProvincialMUIandlaterimprove
theirmarketingscaletothenationalorexportlevel,
NationalLPPOMMUIcanupgradetheircurrent
provinciallevelhalalcertificate.

8.PostCertificationGuarantee
CompaniesshallsubmitperiodicalreportofHAS
implementationonceeverysixmonthssincetheHalal
Certificateisissued.
Whenthecompanyisgoingtousenewmaterials,itshallask
approvaloftheuseofthosematerialsfromLPPOMMUI.
Newmaterialscanonlybeusedaftertheapprovalfrom
LPPOMMUIisobtained.
Allapprovedmaterialsshouldbereevaluatedatthetimeof
certificaterenewalprocess.

9.UnscheduledInspection
LPPOMMUIcanconductanunscheduledinspectionfor:
CompaniesholdingHAScertificate
Companieswithproductsofveryhighriskcategory
Companieswithproductsofriskorlowriskcategory based
onreportsfromauditorsorinformationfromconsumeror
whensuspectednolongermeettheHAScriteria.
