2011G-SHOCK H1-H4
G-SHOCK began with an engineer's brief calling for
development of an unbreakable watch.
CASIO responded by organising Project Team TOUGH in 1981.
The team produced over 200 experimental prototypes for performance tests,
spending about two years on structural development and parts enhancement.
Finally, in 1983, the original shock-resistant structure was completed.
This marked the birth of the rst G-SHOCK model, the DW-5000C.
Throughout the years since, this tough watch has raised challenges insatiably
based on its inherited shock-resistant structure.
G-SHOCK continues to take up new challenges beyond
the limits of time and common sense.

The protruding case and bezel structures shield the
buttons and glass from direct shocks, preventing errors
in operation due to drops.
Key parts inside the module are individually protected
with a cushioning material to prevent errors in
operation or damage if the watch receives a shock.
Hollow case structure
A structure that lessens the force of external shocks by
supporting the module at just a few points inside the case.
All-directional guard structure
A protruding conguration adopted for the watch case and bezel provides protection against shocks
resulting from drops from any direction. Direct shocks to the buttons, glass and case back are alleviated.
Shock-resistant band formation
The sections where the band and the case are joined
are xed in a curved shape that enables the band itself
to act as a shock absorber, thus guarding the back of
the case from direct shocks.

This unique tough structure was born from the unprecedented idea of an "unbreakable
watch". This technology has been passed down to every G-SHOCK model for over a
quarter-century.

The Origin of Toughness
The core technology underlying G-SHOCKs success
G-SHOCKs original shock-resistant structure overturned conventional thinking about
watches. And every G-SHOCK since has adhered to this same concept of toughness.
Ongoing Pursuit of Further Toughness
Advanced technologies expanding the domain of toughness
Seeking out new materials and functions, CASIO is constantly adding even further
toughness to support G-SHOCK wearers in the harshest environments.
G-SHOCKs evolution continues without end.

With hands shaped to optimize their balance with respect to
gravity, reliable operation is achieved in circumstances such as air
racing involving powerful gravitational forces. (Gravity deer)
A single urethane cover extending over the button area where
three keys are laid out provides sure protection from intrusion
by sand, mud and dust. (MUDMAN G-9300)
Use of a resilient glass-bre sheet as an insert achieves a band
structure with exceptional tensile strength. (GD-200)
