Using the vocabulary in exercise 1a, the students must talk about their health problems,
which of the situations mentioned in ex 1a, they have experienced.
A short discussion will start between the teacher and the students (exercise 1c/72). The
teacher will ask the students what medical problems they could suffer on a very hot day, or
when they get wet on a cold day. They must use the words from exercise 1a/72.

3. Controlled practice:
Still in pairs the students must do ex 2a/ 72. They must match columns A and B in order to
get the name of the illness. Their answers will be orally checked. Then using the collocations
in exercise 2b, they must write a short dialogue between a doctor and a patient, in which
they must use the new vocabulary to tell the symptoms, the illness and the piece of advice.
Some of their dialogues will be acted in front of the class.

4. Less- controlled practice:
In groups of 4, the students will have to do exercise 3/ 72. They must write and email to a
friend about a health problem they have had recently. They must write what caused it,
when and where it happened and what they did about it. (40-50 words). Each group will
choose a person to read the email in front of the class. Each group will be given a Students
observation paper. While listening, they must pay attention to the emails and mark them.
The teacher will also note down some ideas about the emails, and at the end of the activity
the teacher will ask the students to comment a bit their work.
Then the students are asked what / who is their healths worse enemy, what makes them ill,
and what is the biggest health problem nowadays------ (stress)
Individually, each student will do exercise 4/ 73. They have to rank from 1-9 the stressful
situations given below the task. Then they must share with the group their choice.

5. Presentation:
The teacher tells the students that since they look a bit stressed out, she wants them to
watch a video about stress.
a) Pre-watching: the teacher gives the students some worksheets; individually they
must do ex A, in which they have to match the words to the meanings. Then check
the answers with the whole class.
b) While-watching: before the video starts, the teacher asks the students to look at
ex. B, and to silently read the sentences. Then while watching the video they must
choose if the statements are True of False. Their answers will be orally checked.
c) After- watching: students must do exercise C, they must complete the summary of
the video with the given words. This will be again orally checked.

If the time allows it, the students may also go back to their students book at
page 73 and in groups of 4, they discuss the way in which they get relaxed,
using the activities given in the pictures, or other. Before they start discussing
the teacher will explain them how to use the

Would rather+ bare infinitive+ Than+ bare infinitive--- structures work.

6. Feedback:
The teacher asks the students as a conclusion, if they think it is important to be healthy and
what can we do in order to keep ourselves fit and healthy.
