- ZEUS BUSINESS GROUP

Intr. Distr.: Embassy of Greece, Pretoria

Subject: GREEK ZEUS PROJECT: FOUR POWERS - SEVEN TECHNOLOGIES.

Dear Madam / Sir,
In our efforts to increase the visibility of Greece in South Africa and contribute to your
understanding of current Greek business capacity and cooperation opportunities, we are pleased
to introduce the ZEUS Project which offers a novel package solution for harnessing and
developing Renewable Energy Sources.
Introduction.
The Zeus project consists of the installation, on successive decks of a ship-like bearing
structure, of the following technologies-devices:

Photovoltaic and CSP (Concentrated Solar Power), for exploitation of solar (thermal) power;

Wind generators of pioneer technology for the aeolic (kinetic) energy of the wind;

TRITON I and TRITON II devices for the kinetic / dynamic energy of the waves;

Heat Pumps for the shallow geothermic energy of the sea environment;

The whole concept of the bearing structure and the sophisticated devices TRITON I and II (for
the oceanic energy) have been secured by international patents (owned by Dr. Dimitris
Papadopoulos, Greek entrepreneur mainly active in the German RES market).

Technical - Financial Data.

The Model Unit will have 8.3 MW of electric power and 4.6 MW of thermal, whereas the total
power is 12.9 MW. The energy production will be 28,400 MWh / annum electrical and 7,500
MWh / annum thermal, that is total output of 35,900 MWh / annum; the said production can cover
the needs of about 8,000 households (in average European market estimate).
The proposed ZEUS Plan provides for the construction of a Model (pilot) Unit at a first stage,
prior of further development in larger scale, whereas the project can be installed anywhere it is
deemed suitable.
To supplement the presentation of the ZEUS Project the following documents are attached:
