On july 9,.2007, the members o] the NYPD, politicians) and the public witnessed once again
how dangerous and, at times, deadly a simple car stop can be when Police Officers Yan and
Timosbenho of the 71 Precinct were gunned down on a Brooklyn Street at 2:30 in the mom-
ing. Officer Timoshenko was fatally wounded, while his partner Officer Yan, heroically
returned fire, radioed (or assistance and rushed to the aid of his fallen partner after suffering

Bureau, led by the 71 Detective Squad and the Brooklyn South Homicide Squad. with assis-

woman at a Manharran hal', Fisher accompanied her to a late night Brooklyn house
