ARISTA SOCIETY

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



In order to be invited into the Arista Society by the Arista Advisor, the following are the
requirements for admission into and continued membership in the Arista Society. Please
read this carefully. You and your parent or guardian must be fully aware of the
commitments involved in both joining and remaining in this prestigious organization. If
you wish to join Arista, or have already been admitted, please keep this page for your
records.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION INTO THE ARISTA SOCIETY

1. Students who wish to enter the Arista Society in the first half of their junior year
must have a 93 average or higher for the 9
th
and 10
th
grades. Students who wish
to enter the Arista Society in the second half of their junior year must have a 90
average or higher for the 9
th
, 10
th
, and 1
st
term of the 11
th
grade. Students who
wish to enter the Arista Society in the first half of the senior year must have a 90
average or higher for the 9
th
, 10
th
, and 11
th
grades.



2. All students must have accumulated the equivalent of 180 hours of school service
from the beginning of the 9
th
grade.

3. All students must be of exemplary character as determined through a reference
check by the faculty (including deans).

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MEMBERS OF THE ARISTA SOCIETY

1. All members must live up to the standards described in the Arista Society Pledge.
2. All members must meet the minimum requirement of 72 service points per term
and submit service forms to the College Office.
3. All members must tutor other students when called upon to perform this service
and submit a tutoring form to the College Office.
4. All members must assist teachers during Fall and Spring Parent-Teacher
Conferences and/or work at College Night.
5. All members must attend bi-weekly Arista Society meetings. If you are
employed, you may be excused from one meeting per month if you submit a note
from your employer on business letterhead. If you have classes 8
th
, 9
th
, or 10
th

periods, you must submit a copy of your program card and are obligated to attend
one meeting per month.
6. No more than two absences for illness or personal business per semester will be
permitted. Absence notes are required.
7. All members must pay a one-time fee of $60.00 or make an arrangement with Ms.
Kucker.
8. If a member fails to fulfill the requirements or live up to the standards of the
Arista Society, he or she may be removed from the organization.
