You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ
Jesus. The things which you have heard from me in the presence
of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to
teach others also. Timothy !"#

THE MINISTRY OF SA!EM HEI"HTS #HUR#H

generous giving of +ods %eo%le. Aou will notice that we do not
%ass the offering %lateB however( there are offering bo&es in the

fruits. ...+od loves a cheerful giver C1 "or. 8.:D and we know
!e blesses those who take !is Word seriously in every regard.
Thank you for %rayerfully su%%orting alem !eights financially as

PICTURES THAT HELP PASS
THE BATON
2 Timothy 2:1-7

Presented by
Pastor !sti" #r$$"$
%ay 1&' 2(1)

In the late 1800s, a distinguished member of the British
Parliament traveled to Scotland to give a speech. On the
wa, his carriage became hopefull mired in the thic! mud
of a rural road. " oung Scottish farm bo suddenl
appeared on the scene with a team of large draft horses.
#e $uic!l had the carriage out of its dilemma and read
to resume the %ourne.

&he gentleman insisted on paing the oung man, but
the lad refused. #e was simpl being a good neighbor '
and neighbors help each other out when there is difficult.

&he (nglish lawma!er was immediatel ta!en with the
oung man and his attitude.

)"re ou sure I can*t pa for our time and effort+, the
gentleman as!ed.

)&han! ou, sir, but it was the least that I could do. It was
a privilege to help such an important person as ourself,,
the bo replied.

)-hat do ou want to be when ou grow up+, as!ed
the man.

)I*d li!e to be a doctor, but I doubt that it will happen
since m famil does not have the mone for such
education.,

)&hen I will help ou become a doctor,, said the
politician.

"nd as the ears went b, the member of Parliament
!ept his promise.

.earl fift ears later, another famous (nglish statesman
la dangerousl close to death due to pneumonia.
-inston /hurchill had become ill while attending a
wartime conference, and (ngland desperatel needed his
leadership as #itler threatened to destro their nation.

/hurchill miraculousl recovered because his phsician
gave him an in%ection of a new wonder drug called
penicillin. Penicillin had recentl been discovered b the
brilliant medical doctor, "le0ander 1leming.

"le0ander 1leming was the oung bo who had pulled
the stalled carriage from the mud. "nd the man who
promised to return the favor b sending him to medical
school was -inston /hurchill*s father, Sir 2andolph
/hurchill.

2andolph /hurchill saw what no one else had seen in
the face of the oung Scottish farm bo. #e saw potential.
"nd his commitment to helping that oung man reach his
potential saved the life of his own son nearl half a centur
later. "nd b saving the life of -inston /hurchill, indeed,
he ma have saved all of (ngland.
