The derogatory terms and things about Jews and other foreign people increased November 1938 synagogues were burned and Jewish shops were destroyed 100 Jews killed and thousands were arrested Many Jews fled Germany to get away from the destruction 1939-1940 German police forced many Jews and foreigners into ghettoes Ghettoes (Captive city-states) This created a lot of poverty, hunger, overpopulation, an insane amount of diseases, and unemployment.
1940-1941 Hitlers army expanded and only got stronger Jews and others were transported to Poland by crowded trains Germans invaded the Soviet Union Einsatzgrupren, and other killing units and centers, murdered over 500,000 soviet Jews 1941-1945 Started transferring Jews and other foreigners to concentration camps in Poland Mass killings began at these starting with the weak and old and the very young because they were not able to work and do hard labor More killing centers were created: Auschwitz was the largest.
CONCENTRATION CAMPS 11 million people died 6 million were Jews Forced to do hard labor Very underfed, malnourished, and were given small portions Medical experiments were conducted along with torture, physical, and mental abuse There were such things as mass murder killing centers, where they would make Jews go into these centers and would kill them with gas They also killed them by shooting them in groups, where each would go down and people would watch the ones they love die. They were forced to run with no clothes, no shoes, and for long periods of time with no rest, in freezing temperatures. END OF THE HOLOCAUST German leadership started to fall Hitler committed suicide Shortly after the Germans surrendered in WWII on May 8, 1945 By the end of the war, two out of every three of these Jews were dead AFTER-MATH Prisoners suffered from Post traumatic stress disorder Loss of families and friends; Their loved ones were murdered and taken away from them right in front of them Forced to watch other people die and be tortured Taken away and forced out of their homes and neighborhoods Long term health problems and scarring
