UNIT PLAN
Text book: CHIT CHAT 1 -
Period: 5 lessons from 4/11 to 11/11/2009.
Aimed at: 4th grade A - Escuela 26 Van Gelderen
Topic: FOOD

Final task
Students will prepare a menu (My Menu) to be displayed on the board. Then, they will carry
out a pair work, where student A will have to find out the contents of Student B´s menu by
asking Yes/No questions: i.e. “Do you like chips?/B: Yes, I do or No, I don´t.”

OBJECTIVES:

Conceptual objectives: Students will develop their ability and knowledge

o to express and enquire information about food;


o to talk about likes and dislikes;
o to express politeness.

Procedural objectives:

• To ask for information / give information about their favourite food.


• To develop listening skills (listen for global / specific information).
• To develop reading skills (skimming and scanning, guessing meaning of words from
context).
• To develop writing skills (to write about like and dislikes using basic structures).
• To develop speaking skills (to ask and answer questions about likes and dislikes using
basic structures).
• To take part in games.
• To sing a song.
• To revise vocabulary and structures seen in previous units.
• To take part in exchanges and role-playing.
• To apply art techniques on making a craft.

Attitudinal objectives:

• To use L2 to communicate creatively.


• To develop confidence at the moment of using the language.
• To work cooperatively in pairs, groups and teams.
• To show respect for mates and teacher.
• To listen to others.
• To respect turn taking.
• To express their own opinion about their favourite food.
