User guide: The Production Possibility Frontier Game
This application is designed to display the results of the Production
Possibility Frontier Game. Starting the Application -It is possible that your excel security settings are set too high to run the application. In order to check: Open excel and click on tools in the menu bar. Select Macro and from the drop don box select security Make sure the setting is no higher than medium. - !hen you are ready to start the game - double click on the ""#game file. If re$uested click %enable macros&. - 'he game should begin on start-up. If it does not start then press (trl g - )ou ill be elcomed by an opening screen hich ill close after * seconds. + elcome screen ill then open. Using the Application - Selecting the timer. )ou must first decide if you ish to use the inbuilt timer. 'he application has an inbuilt ,- second timer. 'he timer ill run automatically. If you do not ish to use this timer tick the no timer box. )ou can stop using the timer at any time by ticking this box. - !ith the 'imer. !hen you click begin game a timer box ill appear. !hen you are ready to run your first session. click begin session. 'his ill begin a ,- second count don. +t the end of the ,- second countdon the timer box ill disappear. )ou can no enter your results in the appropriate boxes. )ou can either type in the number or use the spin buttons. Once you ha/e entered your results click O0. )our results ill appear in the table at the in the bottom left of the screen alongside the marginal opportunity cost of both goods. 'he results ill also be represented in the graph on the right of the screen. If you are using the timer it ill no reappear. If not. you can enter the next session&s results immediately. 'here is no limit to the number of session you can play. End Game !hen you ha/e run as many sessions as you ish. click finish. +t this point you ill be gi/en the option of either closing don the application. starting a ne game or starting a ne game in the existing one. - (losing 1on. If you select the close don option then the sheet ill close. - Start a ne game 'his option ill delete all your results and you ill start back at the elcome screen. - Start a ne game ithin the current one. 'his option ill start a ne game but your pre/ious results ill continue to be displayed on the graph. Only your ne results ill be displayed in the table. 'his option is useful if you ish to compare ""#s under different conditions. 'he application allos you to enter the results from 2 separate games.
