Patient Relations: Extensive experience working directly with patients, surgeons, nurses, other medical

Supervision/Training: Experience overseeing, directing, and training new hires and surgical technician
co-workers. As a surgical technician, I was frequently called upon to oversee and train interns and new

Surgical Technician: Over twenty years progressively more responsible experience working in the health
care industry and Level I and Level II surgical units. Excellent working knowledge of pre and post surgical
procedures, processes, supplies, equipment and instruments. Responsibilities included: placing and
arranging equipment, supplies and instruments in operating room according to procedure, surgeon sand
nurses direction. Wash, shave and sterilize operative areas of patients. Scrubs hands, dons cap, mask, gown
and rubber, latex and non latex gloves. Aid team to don gowns and gloves, maintain specified supply of
such fluids as plasma, saline, blood and glucose for use during operation. Adjust light and other equipment
as needed. Wash and sterilize used equipment using germicide, autoclave, and sterilizer. Clean operating
room, count sponges, needles, and instruments during operation. Assisted in administering blood, plasma
and other injection and transfusions as needed. Worked closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical
staff to ensuring patient and medical team’s safety. Excellent interpersonal, communications,
organizational, time management skills. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously often under stressful
circumstances.

Computers/Clerical: General office process and procedure knowledge i.e. answering phones, filing,
faxing, copying, ordering products materials, inventory control, stock new items and surgery scheduling/re-
scheduling. Currently practicing keyboarding skills with Mavis Beacon.
