The Carpenters have joined a missions team to help plant the first church in
a group of several million people who have their own language and culture.

field in November 2009. We are still learning language and culture, learning

Scudder Memorial Hospiital in Ranipet,South India


has a long history of serving the poor in the
surrounding villages. However, it is best known for its
School of Nursing, a three-year diploma program with
a current enrollment of 100 students. The school
trains young men and women to care for the sick and
promote health and wholeness in the name of Jesus
Christ.

Most of the students are from very poor families and


depend on loans and scholarships to complete their
education. After an additional year of
internship, graduates of the program readily find
employment and are soon able to support themselves
