The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves is seeking a Grants Manager to coordinate and execute contract
and grant activities, and coordinate reports to funders and stakeholders.
Reporting Relationships/Scope
The Grants Manager reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Partnerships and works closely with the Alliance staff and UN Foundation finance team.
Responsibilities/Deliverables
Responsible for the financial administration and processing of the Alliance grants portfolio and oversees the review and approval of its contractual agreements, including the coordination of grant closures (including both the UN grant and the non-UN grant portfolios); Coordinates with Alliance grantees and donors to meet reporting requirements and ensure alignment with proposals and work plans; Investigates, negotiates, and resolves issues associated with grant implementation in coordination with Alliance staff; Coordinates the implementation of grant awards and ensures post-award compliance; Manages the coordination of narrative and financial reporting for Alliance grants funded through partners; Develops and maintains a grants reporting calendar and matrix for the Alliance team; Work with team to ensure timely submission of sub grantee reports and deliverables; and Perform other duties as assigned.
Selection Criteria
Bachelors degree in related field; Five (5) years experience, preferably in international affairs and development and/or knowledge of the international nonprofit sector is desirable; Interest, knowledge or work experience in Energy, Health, Gender, Environmental or International field; Grants management and proposal writing experience in a large non-profit setting; Experience writing and managing contracts and grants especially with the research and non-profit communities; Grant making experience or experience with foundations and bilateral donors; Monitoring and evaluation experience useful; Strong communications, research, writing, and project management skills; Knowledge of and experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access); Knowledge of the GIFTS, SalesForce, and/or Raisers Edge database programs preferable; Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage time effectively and with little supervision; Must be able to travel and work out of Washington DC office; Excellent interpersonal skills.
