How many times have you said to yourself This is it, I am going to turn over a new leaf lose some
of this excess weight and get in better shape? Boatloads, right?
Why is it so darn hard? ..... Why do so many women lose the momentum on the follow through and

and the Internet. Each new study contradicts the last. Its all so damn confusing!
Eat this and youll lose 10 pounds in 30 days..Do that and your butt will magically and miraculously
shrink in size..Then a few months later theres a brand new slew of do thiss and dont do
thatscirculating around the globe. I wonder where all the inaccurate information goes? I imagine into
outer space creating a larger collective universal mass confusion, which is not a good thing!
Thing is, being healthy doesnt have to be such hard work.
And, that my gorgeous Sister Goddess is the inspiration behind this E-Book. Because I, Lisa Marie

The MOST Manageable and
Simplest Place to Start:
Listen Goddess, like anything else, it is important to have building blocks to health or it will be too
much change too soon. Change too many things at once and wham-o you feel overwhelmed and
you give up and succumb to old, unhealthy choices like convenient processed food or drive through
fast food windows.
Its a vicious cycle. THE vicious cycle of the Standard American Diet, The acronym is SAD. Now, how
s-a-d is that!
Ok, so enough with the gloom and doom. Heres the good news. Its the tortoise that wins the race,
not the annoying and hyperactive hare. So if youre anything like me, you should implement dietary
and exercise regimens - slowly and steadily. Okay fellow tortoises read on!
First let me begin by saying that I am a Goddess that loves to live it up. I follow a Work Hard, Play
Hard life model. I have an insatiable sweet tooth and a sugar addiction that was the BANE of my
very existence. Simply put, until a few years ago I was a full blown sugar and carbohydrate addict that
would (and did) run amuck because it never affected my weight. I was one of those irritating lucky
people that could eat and not gain weight. I was always curvy but never overweight. Well, until I
turned 40 that is.
I Turned 40 and all Hell Broke Loose!
Then, it was all DOWN HILL for Lisa. The pounds crept on and I became panic stricken. I began to eat
healthier and cleaner. I turned to Agave Nectar, Local Honey, Organic Sugars, Brown Rice, Quinoa,
Tabouli, 12-Grain Bread, No preservatives, No artificial colors or flavors, etc. All of the good and
healthy stuff or so I thought.
So, why was my weight slowly creeping up? I racked my brain over and over. Then defeated, I thought
well maybe its because Im over 40? Or its genetics. I am Italian after all. Maybe I was meant to
become a little old meatball Italian grandma
After a few weeks I finally snapped out of the woe is me act. My Powerful Goddess tenacity came
flying out of me with a vengeance! I was absolutely not going to become a little old meatball Italian
grandma, no friggin way. Im way to sassy and badassy for that! There had to be a way to get my
Goddess Groove back in full swing!
So, I began devising my plan my new Sugar Free Goddess Lifestyle Plan .
And not only did it have to fit my Work Hard, Play Hard lifestyle, but I had to figure out a way to have
my cake and be healthy too.

Ok, lets take an honest look at real women today. Sadly, most real women in our country eat too much
fast food items, like McDonalds, and a bunch of food from boxes and packages. Eating like that will
never give you the amazing results you want (or that I experience on a daily basis).
In order to get you started on your do-able and delicious journey, we are going to take BABY STEPS!
Remember, this is not a D-I-E-T its a delicious new Sugar-Free Goddess Lifestyle. Trust me, youll
love it and I will be here to support you every step of the way! I promise!
So lets start with some simple changes that you can do right away. Ive got dozens to share with you,
but Im going to start with what I think are the simplest MOST IMPORTANT 10 changes you can
immediately make to improve your health and budge that stubborn extra weight youre carrying.

#1 - Drink More Water
I know, I know - you know this already!! But its true. 99.9 % of people dont drink enough water. I
dont drink enough water either! Ive been very thirsty, so Im drinking lots more water.
My husband, Mike, on the other hand drinks water like a camel. It irritates me beyond the beyond! He
is constantly sucking down HUGE glasses of water. And heaven forbid if we go out anywhere and he
forgets his stainless steel water bottle filled up to the tippy, tippy top with, what? You guessed it, WATER.
He pouts. A pouting Caveman! I cant help but snap at him with an annoyed response like Its not like
were crossing the Sahara Desert, Sheesh! All kidding aside, drinking more water is the number one
healthiest thing you can do. Thats why its numero uno on my list. Since going sugar free and bumping
up my protein intake I have been very thirsty and Im drinking lots more water!
Did you know that drinking water at certain times of your day can maximize its benefits?
I just love to MULTI-TASK! How about you?
Here are some guidelines:
2 glasses of water after waking up helps activate your internal organs.
1 glass of water before a meal can aid in digestion and help you to eat less food which will
assist in weight loss.
1 glass of water before a bath helps lower blood pressure.
1 glass of water before bed can help to avoid stroke or heart attack.
POWER TIP: An accepted guideline for your daily fluid intake would be to consume
one half ounce of decaffeinated beverages per pound of body weight. So, if you weigh
150 pounds, you should be drinking roughly 75 ounces of water per day. Make sure
all of your beverages are No Calorie and Caffeine Free.
Sugar Free Goddess Mantra: Never drink your calories, EAT them instead!
Like I mentioned earlier, I really hate drinking water, so I have some suggestions for you to try.
Drink Seltzer, Sparking Water or Club water. Seltzer comes plain, with fruit essence or in no
calorie flavors that taste like fruity sodas. I LOVE bubbly water!
Put washed and cut up pieces of fruit into your water. I like to use pieces of apples, strawberries,
oranges or limes. Mint leaves infuse nicely; I grow it in a container in my herb garden. My
daughter Chelsea likes cucumbers in hers. Very snazzy and spa like for sure.
Experiment with different herbal teas. Theyre a wonderful addition to your Sugar Free
Goddess Lifestyle. Personally, I drink a lot of herbal tea. All kinds. One of my favorites is
Celestial Seasonings Red Zinger Tea. Hot or Iced. If you need it sweetened a little put a

dash of Stevia or Truvia in it and Viola!
Mineral Water like Pellegrino with a squeeze of lemon or lime. Or maybe even both lemon
and lime; Go For It!
I saved the best for lastDrinking ice water burns 60 calories per glass!!! The reason being
is that your body needs to warm the water up once ingested, so its working harder and
therefore burning calories! Whoo Hoo!

Here is one of my favorite ways to jazz up water. It is said to help boost weight-loss too.

Ingredients:
Tazo brand Passion Tea Bags
Any Calorie Free Lemonade
Liquid or Powdered Stevia (optional)
Large Pyrex or Heat Resistant Vessel
Lime (optional)

irections:
1. Steep two bags of Tazo Passion Tea in 8 oz. of water.
2. After the tea has steeped for 5 minutes remove tea bags and add an
additional 8 oz or water to the vessel.
3. Fill a gorgeous glass with ice and pour in equal amounts of Passion Tea
and calorie free Lemonade
4. If you need it a little sweeter add some Splenda. (Personally, I do not add
any additional sweetener)
5. Garnish with a slice of lime (optional)

#2 - Cut Sugar Out Of
Your Daily Lifestyle:
An anti-aging doctor I respect named Dr. Richard Solazzo once said to me during a conversation that
SUGAR IS EVIL. I know this to be the truth! It can cause diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol,
mood swings, etc... The list goes on and on, and todays population is addicted to sugar.
Its very important to your health and weight-loss efforts to wean your body off of sugar. To help with the
transition I recommend that you switch to Splenda, Truvia or Sweetleaf* (*naturally made from Stevia
leaf), Equal or Xylitol.
Yes, some of these are chemical sweeteners and not natural at all. But in my opinion its better to
occasionally use artificial sweeteners than bombard your body with surges of sugar on a daily basis.
In a perfect world I would say NO ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS and NO SUGAR, but were Real
Women and living that way is way too fanatical, limiting and unrealistic to abide by long term. I
want you to be happy, healthy, svelte and have stable blood sugar levels more than anything so, stick
with me!
Everything in moderation!
Once you wean your body off of sugar, it becomes easier and easier to make healthier choices and
switching to all natural sweeteners will become easy to do.
Did you know that too much sugar leads to insulin resistance? Then insulin resistance can lead to
diabetes. Did you know that in medical school doctors are taught to assume and treat for heart disease
when a patient presents with (which means has) diabetes? Scary stuff! Our youth are eating tons of
hidden sugar in processed (boxed) food.
How many boxes are in your shopping cart each week? If youre like most people its too many,
Im sure!

TIP: Stevia is readily found at most major Super Markets, Whole Foods Market and
Trader Joes. Stevia is an herb that originated from South and Central America. It has
zero calories, zero carbohydrates, and a zero percent chance of spike in blood sugar
levels, which is one of the most important things to avoid happening. It is safe for
diabetics and children. Stevia is up to 300 times sweeter than sugar, so a pinch goes a
long way! This herb is not endorsed by the FDA as a sweetener at this time. It is listed as
a dietary supplement as a way of getting around the FDA. Large companies are starting
to use Stevia as a sweetener for low calorie drinks and other items. It has been used by
other countries for some time and is starting to become very common in the U.S. Some
of the common store brands for Stevia are Truvia, Sweetleaf or Suncrystals.
I use Stevia whenever possible and since America is becoming more health conscious and aware, more
and more manufacturers are switching to natural calorie free sweeteners for their products. I think its
just a matter of time before many artificial sweeteners are gone for good, which is a good thing!

#3 - Eat Organic and Locally
Grown Food Whenever Possible:
What is organic? No synthetic fertilizers or pesticides used during the growing and transporting of
produce. Organic farmers use compost to enrich the soil and beneficial insects such as praying mantis
and ladybugs to control plant-eating pests.
In order to use the word organic on labels, growers must be certified under and abide by federal rules.
I still recommend you to wash your fruit and vegetables before eating. There are residual pesticides
and fungicides on most produce. Bottom line, buy organic whenever possible, it is best for your health
and environment, and wash all produce organic or not before cooking or eating.
Buy locally when available. Visit a local Farmers Market. Theyre popping up everywhere! Eat
seasonably. Buy whats in season during the season you are in (example: stone fruit in summer, squash
in fall/winter, etc.).
Our bodies appreciate it. We feel better. It is environmentally conscious too. Most of the out of season
produce comes all the way from South America and other corners or the world. Its picked unripe so
that it will make the long trip across the world. It is sprayed with chemicals to prolong its shelf life. Not
good for your health at all.
If it is too expensive to buy organic produce, buy regular produce but make sure you wash it thoroughly.

#4 Wash Produce Well Before
Eating or Cooking With It:
This is a springboard from #3 but its very important. There have been studies that link consumption of
pesticides and fungicides with hormonal imbalance. Hormonal imbalance is one of the main reasons
women find it impossible to loose weight!
Organic produce should be washed well too. If you are unable to find a fruit and veggie wash at the
store you can make your own very inexpensively. Here are a couple of recipes:
RECIPE #1 Soaking
Make a 50/50 dilution of white vinegar and water. Soak for 5-10 minutes. Rinse well. (Never soak
mushrooms, they absorb water. Just rinse mushrooms really well.)
RECIPE #2 - Spraying
Put 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice and 2 Tablespoons of baking soda with 1 cup of water. Put this mixture
in a sprayer bottle. After spraying, let your produce sit for a few minutes. Then rinse well.
RECIPE #3 - Detergent
Consumer Reports suggest you scrub produce with a weak solution of Palmolive Dish Soap. Dont
forget to RINSE VERY WELL. I dont recommend this, but in a pinch its better than nothing. Far better
than consuming chemicals thats for sure.
BOTTOM LINE: Its better for your health to eat more vegetables and fruit than not to because of cost.
Fresh and Organic = Best Choice
Frozen and Organic = Second Choice
Fresh and Non Organic = Third Choice
Canned- Organic or Regular = Last Choice: Canned goods are loaded with sodium,
packed in aluminum and generally depleted of nutrients. I do not recommend using
canned produce except in a pinch.

#5 - Eat Grass or Pasture Fed And
Humanely Raised Animals
Meat and Dairy:
The media wants us to believe that antibiotics were prescribed too frequently and now strains of
sickness have mutated and become resistant to our medicines SUPER BUGS, theyre called.
That may be true, but I also believe based on my voracious reading on the subject that in addition to
past over-prescribing of antibiotics by physicians, we eat meat and dairy that is raised on antibiotics
and hormones by factory farms. Far too many of the animals we eat are kept in too small confinement.
Some never see the sun in their entire lives. They are forced to lie down and live in their own feces.
And, sadly many succumb to disease.
This is an abomination and it has to STOP. PLEASE VOTE with your dollars and buy animal
products that were raised, fed and slaughtered in an ethical and humane manner.
You should also know if the animal you are eating was feed a grass or a corn based diet.
Question: Cows never ate corn before, why are they eating it now?
Answer: Because they grow quicker and its cheaper to feed them corn-based pellets than to feed
them grass in outside pastures (grassy fields).
Cheaper for the factory farm, BUT unhealthy for you!

#6 - Eat Wild Caught Fish:
Wild caught fish are shown to be healthier than farm raised fish. Farm raised fish are raised in
tremendous tanks and eat the unnatural diet of a caged animal (I wouldnt be surprised if the fish
pellets were made from corn and soy because thats what we grow and have an over abundance of
in America). In addition to eating the pellets they also eat the waste and feces thats floating around
in the tank. Yuk!
Wouldnt you rather spend your hard earned money on fish that swam around in the vast blue waters
eating what theyre meant to? I know I do! Check the label before you buy seafood. Its labeled either
Farmed or Wild Caught. Purchase ONLY Wild Caught seafood.
I had the privilege of hearing a lecture by Dr. Andrew Weil during my time as a student at the Institute
for Integrative Nutrition. Dr. Weil recommended, as his personal favorite fish choice for health and
longevity, Wild Caught Sockeye Salmon. Needless to say, its always in my freezer.

#7 - Use Stainless Steel Pots
for All Cooking:
In the past I have made this mistake myself. Due to fact that I cook a lot, sometimes I chose to use
convenient non-stick cookware. After all, it is very forgiving and you dont have to stand on top of the
stove while preparing your meals.
Trouble is, it scratches very easily and when Non Stick Cookware is scratched the aluminum leaches
out and into your food. Then you ingest aluminum through your food which can lead to high amounts
of metals in your body which has been shown to be the cause of many health conditions, hormone
imbalance as well as chronic lethargy. Not a good thing at all.
Switch to stainless steel cookware. Its pricier than other types of cookware but your health is worth it.
Savvy Goddess Tip: For deals on stainless steel cookware check out Restaurant
Supply stores. They usually carry used stainless steel cookware for a fraction of the cost.

#8 - Dont Wrap Acidic Foods in
Aluminum Foil When Storing:
Did you know that acidic foods such as tomatoes and citrus fruits absorb aluminum? Then you ingest it
just like I described in #7. Be aware of juice boxes or bags with lemonade in them, they are sometimes
lined or made with Aluminum or metals. The aluminum is absorbed by the lemonade, which your child
then drinks!
Some possible symptoms of high metals in the body include: chronic fatigue, attention deficit disorder,
anxiety, poor memory, etc. the list goes on and on. Many people have high levels of metals in their
body and they dont even know it. Something to be aware of look how your food is packaged. Are
you ingesting metals?

#9 - Get Adequate Rest And Sleep:
Much of the bodys healing work takes place while you sleep. Without the need to attend to all of
the functions and abuse of daily life, your immune system and detoxification organs can focus their
attention on cleansing and restoring the body. Sleeping is when your body does major work, taking
care of wastes that have accumulated during the day and repairing cellular damage.
Cultivate the habit of going to bed early, before 11 PM. When it gets dark out, the body naturally wants
to sleep. Overriding this desire for sleep interferes with the natural rhythm of cleansing. According to
traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, as well as Western naturopathic healing philosophy, the
most important hours for detoxification and rejuvenation are before midnight. Your body has a higher
intelligence. Are you listening to your body?

#10 Get Moving:
Listen, nobody likes to kick back more than me. I must have been a slug in my last life, but some form
of physical movement at least three times a week is very important to your overall health and mental
well being. No need to join a gym or purchase exercise equipment that ends up as a clothes hanger.
You might say Lisa, I havent any time so I have put together a list of creative exercise opportunities;
Gardening - Go outside, breathe some fresh air and dig in the dirt.
Clench and Release Your Ass Cheeks While Youre Sitting At Your Desk -
thats right you read correctly. I mentioned earlier that I LOVE to multi-task it helps
firm up the ass! Tell your guy to do this too, Goddesses DONT like saggy man asses!
Climb Up And Down Your Stairs - This is a GREAT workout. Go up and down
stairs until you are winded. See if you can build up repetitions and add more rounds
each week. When it gets easy, hold a filled laundry basket and do it.
Use Tomato Sauce Cans As Weights - This is great for arm definition. Use the
