How can we create an angled lintel window in Advance Concrete?

Software: Autodesk Advance Concrete

For this example we will create a 25cm thick wall. The level height will be 4m.

A window will be created using the "Create a window" command on the "Advance Model" toolbar.

The wall must be selected and the window must be placed in the desired position.

The properties page of the window must be opened. Using the "Add" option the window parameter list is accessed (1). From the "Inclined lintel" category, the window angled
dimensions must be chosen (2). Using the "Import" option the dimension are imported from the library.

All the window dimensions can be modified using the "Modify" button and then selecting the "Defined" tab. All the parameters are detailed in the bottom right picture.

In this example we will modify the "D" parameter. To validate the changes the "Modify" button must be clicked on the "Defined" tab and then "OK".

The window dimension can be modified from the "Window type" on the "Smart Bar" and by pressing "Enter" for validation.

To add the lintel on the top part of the window, perform the following steps:
1. A beam must be placed over the window. In this example the beam dimension is 25x30. Initially the wall has the priority parameter set to 40 and the beam is set to 30. To make the
beam visible, the beam priority must be greater than the wall priority. The beam replaces the lintel. By default the beam is placed relative to the story top level.

2. An angled line must be created representing the top part of the window. To avoid the calculation of the declination of the line declination use the following method:

- On the AutoCAD "View" toolbar select the "Top view" option. An angled line can be created on the top part of the window perimeter.

- Next, select and copy the line (using CTRL+C), and then select the top view and paste the line (using CTRL+V)

3. On the Advance Modeling toolbar select the "Create a roof" command. The line must be selected and a roof is created on top of the beam. By default, the declination of the roof is
positioned relative to the story top level.

The beam binds with the roof by using the "Bind" command on the "Advance Model" toolbar.

Select the roof declination and the beam and press "Enter".
In the properties line of the roof, insert the value for the distance from the top level of the story to the angled line of the lintel beam.

In the beam properties the "Perpendicular" option can be used for the beam ends.
