1. SCOPE This Guide covers the basic requirements for Type H, open, simple-cycle combustion gas turbine units installed in refinery and petrochemical facilities. The Guide is specific to Type H industrial gas turbine packages for mechanical drive, generator drive, or process gas application. This includes associated accessory and supervisory panels. All necessary auxiliary equipment is included in this Guide, either directly or by reference. The gas turbine units covered by the Guide shall be capable of (1) continuous service for a minimum of three years; (2) air flow greater than 22.7 kg/s (50 lb/s) for process gas generators, or 3.7 MW (5000 hp) for shaft power; and (3) firing gas, liquid fuel, or both. It is the responsibility of the turbine supplier to fully guarantee satisfactory operation of the gas turbine package and the driven equipment. In case of conflict between this document and the inquiry or order, the following shall govern: (a) Purchase order and attachments. (b) EGE 15-D-19 (a or b). (c) This Guide. 2. REFERENCES The following publications form a part of this Guide. Unless otherwise specified herein, use the latest edition.

3. GENERAL 3.1 Gas turbines shall conform to API Standard 616 except as modified in Section 4 of this Guide.

3.2 Vendors shall comply with the requirements of EGE 00-C-4 and the specific requirements of API Standard 616, as amended in Section 4 of this Guide. 3.3 The vendor shall furnish the gas turbine, gears, and auxiliaries in accordance with the requirements of this Guide, EGE 15-D-19 and the project specifications. All equipment and gas turbine components offered must have been used in comparable service. 3.4 In case of conflict between API Standard 616, this Guide, and EGE 15-D-19, the data sheets shall govern. 3.5 All equipment covered by this Guide shall meet the applicable noise levels established in EGE 00-B-5 and the project specifications. 3.6 All equipment covered in this Guide shall be designed for operation in a totally unprotected, outdoor installation unless otherwise specified on EGE 15-D-19. 4. MODIFICATIONS TO API STANDARD 616 The following items are amendments to API Standard 616, second edition, June 1982. The section and

paragraph numbers refer to those given in that standard.


SECTION 2 BASIC DESIGN

Paragraph 2.1.1 (Purchasers Option)


See EGE 15-D-19 for fuel analysis.

Paragraph 2.1.2 (Addition)


Gas turbine units shall be suitable for periods of idleness up to three weeks, under specified site conditions, without requiring special maintenance procedures. The vendor shall furnish accessories and those controls necessary to prevent rotor bow, damage to bearings, and damage to driven equipment during these periods.

Paragraph 2.1.3 (Modification)


The operating speed range of gas turbine units for mechanical drive applications shall be as specified on EGE 15-D-19. Where no more than one operating speed is specified for such applications, a minimum speed range of 15 percent shall be provided (from 90 percent to 105 percent of rated speed). The turbine site rating shall be as specified on EGE 15-D-19 and the project specifications. For mechanical drives the gas turbine shall be capable of continuously developing 107 percent of the maximum horsepower required by the driven equipment. This shall include all tolerances for the specified operating conditions at the site, including turbine inlet and exhaust losses, without exceeding the manufacturers recommended maximum firing temperatures.

Paragraph 2.1.4 (Addition)


Potential maximum power shall be specified on EGE 15-D-19. All auxiliaries (couplings, gear ratings, etc.) shall be designed in accordance with this rating. For generator drive the transmission gearbox and couplings shall be sized for the maximum generator capacity plus the service factor.

Paragraph 2.1.6 (Addition)


Specific Mobil approval is required to use steam injection.

Paragraph 2.1.7 (Modification)


The vendor shall conform to Mobils specified allowable sound levels. (see EGE 00-B-5).

Paragraph 2.1.8 (Modification)


Unless otherwise specified, cooling water systems shall be designed for the following conditions:

Paragraph 2.1.9 (Addition)


All equipment shall be designed to run safely to trip speed setting at the potential maximum horsepower of the gas turbine or, in the case of a generator drive, at the potential power of the generator if this is the greater.

Paragraph 2.1.14 (Modification)


With each unit, the vendor shall supply one complete set of the special tools and fixtures required to maintain the unit as specified on EGE 15-D-19.

Paragraph 2.1.15 (Addition)


The combined performance of the gas turbine, its auxiliaries, and driven equipment shall be the responsibility of the gas turbine vendor. As a minimum, the vendor shall: 1. Accept responsibility for the mechanical operation and control system of the combined train (gas turbine, auxiliaries, driven equipment). 2. Provide warranty for all the equipment in the train. 3. Perform, and provide warranty for, the torsional and lateral critical speed analysis of the gas turbine, couplings, and driven equipment. (The driven equipment vendor shall be contracted to supply all necessary engineering equipment data, such as bearing stiffness and rotor characteristics.) 4. Coordinate lube and seal oil system interface requirements of driven equipment and gas turbines. 5. Coordinate, supervise erection of, and commission the complete turbine driven equipment train. 6. Initiate combined operating and startup procedures and review final procedures. Paragraph 2.1.16, Last sentence (Deletion) Delete "when specified."

Paragraph 2.1.17 (Modification)


The turbine and its auxiliaries, including local instrument panels, shall be suitable for outdoor installation, exposure to seaside and refinery atmospheres where applicable, and the full range of ambients and unusual environmental conditions specified on EGE 15-D-19 and the project specifications.

Paragraph 2.2.2 (Addition)


All pressure parts shall be suitable for operation at the most severe coincident condition of pressure and temperature. The maximum allowable working pressure for all pressure parts shall exceed the maximum operating pressure by 10 percent or 170 kPa (25 psi), whichever is greater.

Paragraph 2.2.3, Last Sentence (Modification)


All casing joints shall be tight at operating pressure and temperature, with no leakage. The test for casing

leaks shall be defined in the vendors proposal and shall be subject to Mobil approval.

Paragraph 2.2.4 (Addition)


The gas turbine casing shall be designed to contain failed discs, blades, or other components. The vendor shall state containment factors.

Paragraph 2.2.6.2 (Addition)


Cap screws shall not be used without specific permission of the purchaser (Mobil or a Mobil representative).

Paragraph 2.2.6.4 (Modification)


A clearance shall be provided at all bolting locations to permit the use of socket or box-type hydraulic wrenches.

Paragraph 2.2.6.6 (New)


The bolting for pressure joints and piping shall be based on the bolting temperature defined by ASME B31.1. Nuts shall conform to ASTM A194, Grade 2 or 2H.

Paragraph 2.2.9 (Addition)


Field balancing or shop test balancing by adding weights to couplings is prohibited. Field balancing is considered to be a long-term balancing tool, and balancing on the coupling shall not be permitted for achieving vibration acceptance levels during test or initial startup.

Paragraph 2.4.1 (Modification)


Inlet and outlet connections shall be flanged, oriented as specified by Mobil on EGE 15-D-19, and suitable for the working pressure of the casing as specified in Paragraphs 1.4.1 and 2.2. Field welding to make connections is not acceptable.

Paragraph 2.4.3 (Addition)


All flanged casing connections except for water or lube oil shall have the same ANSI rating as the major casing nozzles.

Paragraph 2.4.7 (Addition)


Provision shall be made so that bolt tensioners can be used.

Paragraph 2.5.1.1 (Addition)


Throughout the exposed length, shafts shall have a surface finish suitable for ultrasonic and/or liquid penetrant inspection. Journals shall be protected at all times after completion of machining to prevent damage, particularly in the area of the noncontacting vibration probe. Plating of the shaft at the bearing, proximity probe, or coupling areas is unacceptable.

Paragraph 2.5.1.2 (Addition)


The vendor shall include in the proposal the shop procedure followed to measure the electrical and mechanical runout. This procedure shall include a description of the setup used to support the rotor, instrumentation, typical data, and interpretation.

Paragraph 2.5.3.2 (Modification)


Tips of rotating blades or labyrinths for shrouded blades shall be designed to prevent rubbing during field testing, startup, normal operation, and shutdowns.

Paragraph 2.7.1.9 (Substitution) (Delete Bullet)


The gas turbine vendor shall perform a lateral critical speed analysis of the gas turbine. The gas turbine vendor shall be responsible for the satisfactory performance of the entire system and shall perform a lateral and torsional critical speed analysis of the driver/driven equipment system. Other manufacturers providing components in the system shall provide necessary data and specify sources of excitation. A written report shall be submitted (see Paragraph 6.2.4). The critical speed analysis shall, as a minimum, take into account the forcing phenomena and exciting frequencies given in Paragraph 2.7.1.

Paragraph 2.7.1.10, Third Sentence (Modification)


Vibration shall not exceed twice the vibration limits (see Paragraph 2.7.2.5 as modified by this Guide).

Paragraph 2.7.2.5 (Modification)


During the shop test of the assembled machine or train operating at maximum continuous speed or at any other speed within the specified operating range, the double amplitude of unfiltered vibration in any plane measured on the shaft adjacent and relative to each radial bearing shall not exceed the following value or 25 m (1.0 mil), whichever is less: Allowable test level = double amplitude including runout, (See API Standard 616 for explanation of "runout") = (mils) vibration + runout

Nmc = maximum continuous speed, in revolutions per minute. At trip speed of the driver, the vibration shall not exceed the above value plus 13 m (0.5 mil). The amplitude of any discrete, nonsynchronous vibration shall not exceed 20 percent of the allowable vibration.

Paragraph 2.8.2, Last Sentence (Addition)


The liners, pads, or shells shall be in steel, horizontally split housing and shall be replaceable. On two-shaft machines, each internal bearing shall be furnished with embedded bearing thermocouples or recording

temperature devices (RTDs). The indicating device shall be furnished by the vendor and installed in the local panel. The indicator shall incorporate a high-temperature alarm with an adjustable set point for each channel and shall have a manual selector switch for individual channel readout.

Paragraph 2.8.4 (Substitution)


Hydrodynamic thrust bearings shall be of the double-acting, steel-backed, self-equalizing, babbitted multiple segment type, designed for maximum axial thrust in both directions and arranged for continuous pressurized lubrication to each side. Each side shall be of the tilting-pad type incorporating a self-leveling feature to ensure that each segment carries an equal share of the thrust load. The thrust collar shall be replaceable and shall be positively locked to the shaft to prevent fretting. Both faces of the collar shall have a surface finish not exceeding 0.4 m (0.016 mils) root mean square, and the axial total indicator runout of either face at the disc perimeter shall not exceed 13 m (0.5 mil).

Paragraph 2.8.11 (New)


Each thrust bearing shall be provided with four bearing metal temperature-detecting devices, two on the active side and two on the inactive side. The indicating device shall be furnished by the vendor and installed in the local panel. This indicator shall incorporate a high-temperature alarm with an adjustable set point for each channel and shall have a manual selector switch for individual channel readout.

Paragraph 2.9.3 (New)


All proximeters shall be supplied and mounted by the vendor in weatherproof and watertight terminal boxes located on the equipment baseplate or support pedestals. Refer to EGE 15-D-19 for electrical area classifications.

Paragraph 2.10.1 (Modification)


A complete pressurized lube system shall be furnished with each gas turbine unit to supply oil (at suitable pressure and temperature) to the following equipment items when applicable: 1. Gas turbine, accessory gear box, and shaft-driven auxiliaries. 2. Load gears. 3. Helper drivers (when specified). 4. Hydraulic governing and control systems. 5. Continuously lubricated couplings (when specified). 6. Bearings for driven equipment (when specified). 7. Seal oil systems separate consoles in accordance with EGE 15-B-9 (when specified). Accessory base lube oil systems directly connected to the gas turbine base are acceptable. The proposal shall include either a specific statement that the system and all components are in strict accordance with the Mobil Guides or a list specifying and explaining any and all deviations therefrom. Deviations may include equivalent alternative designs or systems with proven experience and guaranteed for the specified duties.

Paragraph 2.10.2 (Modification)

The pressurized oil systems shall be in accordance with EGE 15-B-9.

Paragraph 2.11.4.2 (Modification)


All repairs and repair welding procedures shall be submitted to Mobil for approval.

Paragraph 2.11.4.5, Item 5 (Modification)


5. The vendor shall submit proposed connection designs for approval prior to fabrication. Drawings shall show weld designs, size, materials, and preheat and postweld heat treatments.

Paragraph 2.11.4.6 (New)


Each weld procedure submitted shall include: 1. Weld procedure summary. 2. Weld procedure specification(s). 3. Procedure qualification record(s). 4. Weld map data sheet(s). 5. Nondestructive examination (NDE) procedures (if applicable).

Paragraph 2.11.6.4 (New)


The inspection procedure for casting shall conform to EGE 00-B-20.
SECTION 3 ACCESSORIES

Paragraph 3.1.1.3 (Addition)


Helper drivers require Mobil approval.

Paragraph 3.1.1.6 (Purchasers Option)


Starting turbines (steam or gas) shall be in accordance with EGE 15-B-7 and Paragraph 3.1.1.4. Helper turbines shall be in accordance with EGE 15-B-8 and Paragraph 3.1.1.5.

Paragraph 3.1.2.1 (Addition)


The starting driver shall be rated so that it is not the limiting factor in the number of successive starts permitted.

Paragraph 3.1.3.1 (Modification)


A turning gear or ratchet device shall be furnished by the gas turbine vendor to avoid rotor deformation and other machinery mishaps after a tripout. Details of the turning gear design, sizing criteria, operation, and manual versus automatic engagement shall be approved by Mobil.

All gears shall be approved by Mobil. The vendor shall submit complete engineering information on EGE 15-D-11.

Paragraph 3.2.1.2 (Substitution)


Load gears and helper driver gears shall be separately coupled units and shall comply with EGE 15-B-11

Paragraph 3.2.1.3 (Substitution)


Load gears shall be rated in accordance with EGE 15-B-11, Paragraph 2.2.1.

Paragraph 3.2.1.4 (Modification)


Auxiliary gears shall be in accordance with AGMA Std 421.06 as a minimum. Auxiliary gears shall be rated for 110 percent of the power developed by any starting/helper or driven auxiliary coupled to it. Auxiliary gears require specific Mobil approval.

Paragraph 3.2.1.5 (New)


The vendors proposal shall include the following data: 1. Completed EGE 15-D-11. 2. Utility requirements lube oil, heat load, etc. 3. Typical outline drawing, schematic diagrams, cross-sectional drawing. 4. Literature fully describing gear details. 5. Net and maximum weights, maximum maintenance weight. 6. Spare parts recommended and special tools. 7. Optional tests. 8. Special requirements. 9. Experience list of gear arrangements offered.

Paragraph 3.2.2 (Modifications)


The gas turbine vendor shall furnish all couplings and guards, including adapter plates, between the turbine, starting/helper drivers, auxiliary gears, the load gear, and/or the first piece of load equipment. Dry couplings are required. All couplings shall be in accordance with EGE 15-B-13 and require specific Mobil approval.

Paragraph 3.2.2 (Addition)


All coupling hubs shall be mounted on shaft ends with a tapered fit. Keyless shaft ends utilizing hydraulically fitted coupling hubs are required.

Paragraph 3.3.2.4 (Modification)


Machinery supports shall be designed to have sufficient strength and rigidity to limit change of alignment,

caused by the worst combination of pressure, torque, and allowable piping stress, to a 50 m (2.0 mil) total indicator reading at the coupling flange.

Paragraph 3.3.2.4 (Addition)


Baseplate design shall include structural members for the direct mounting of main equipment items.

Paragraph 3.3.2.6 (Modification)


A nonshrink epoxy grout shall be used to grout sole plate and all machinery baseplates. The vendor shall precoat all the grouting surfaces at the mounting plates or steel members with catalyzed epoxy primer applied to degreased clean metal (in accordance with Mobil EGE 35-B-1 and EGE 35-B-10).

Paragraph 3.3.2.8 (Addition)


Incorrect drillings in machinery baseplates or pedestals shall not be plugged without Mobil review and approval of the procedure.

Paragraph 3.3.2.13 (Modification)


Delete "if specified by purchaser."

Paragraph 3.3.2.16 (Modification)


A 5 mm (3/16 in.) minimum thickness decking shall be provided on the top of all baseplates. The decking shall cover all walk and work areas.

Paragraph 3.3.2.17 (New)


Where statically determinate point support systems are proposed, these shall be subject to Mobil review and approval. Support universals shall be of forged steel.

Paragraph 3.4.1.1, Second Sentence (Modification)


All instrumentation and installation shall conform to the project specifications and requirements listed in the data sheets. All instruments supplied by the vendor shall be specified in the proposal and approved by Mobil.

Paragraph 3.4.1.2 (Modification)


All controls and instrumentation shall be suitable for outdoor installation and shall meet the requirements specified on EGE 15-D-19 and the project specifications.

Paragraph 3.4.1.3 (Modification)


Controls and instrumentation shall conform to API RP 550 and API Standard 670. The purchaser shall specify the location of all panels. Vibration isolation should be considered for base-mounted instrumentation. Control panels requiring special installation procedures shall be specified by the vendor in the proposal.

Paragraph 3.4.1.3 (Addition)


As used in API RP 550, the terms "usually," "advisable," and "most common" shall be interpreted as referring to mandatory requirements.

Paragraph 3.4.2 (Modification)


The turbine control system shall provide for orderly startup, stable operation, warning of abnormal conditions, monitoring of operation, and shutdown of the gas turbine and/or driven equipment in the event of impending damage to either unit. The turbine control system shall incorporate the load equipment shutdown devices. See EGE 15-D-19 for auto start and control parameters required.

Paragraph 3.4.2 (Addition)


On-line redundancy and self-diagnostic features shall be considered where electronic and microprocessor systems are incorporated.

Paragraph 3.4.2.1 (New)


The design of turbine control system shall include provision for automatic control from a process parameter, such as process compressor flow or discharge pressure, if desired.

Paragraph 3.4.3.2, Last Sentence (Modification)

Paragraph 3.4.4.7 (Addition)


For generator drive application, speed adjustment shall be controlled by the automatic generator synchronization circuits. Manual speed adjustments shall be provided at the local control panel and from any remote panel.

Paragraph 3.4.4.10 (Modification)


Provision shall be made to maintain turbine speed upon failure of the control signal or actuator when electronic, microprocessor-based governors are used.

Paragraph 3.4.4.12, Second Sentence (Modification)

Local panels for gas turbines and driven equipment shall be the freestanding, illuminated, enclosed type with a NEMA 4X enclosure as a minimum. All panel-mounted instruments shall be approved by Mobil.

Paragraph 3.4.5.2 (Addition)


Pneumatic and direct-connected instruments shall have a block and bleed valve within the panel. (No hydrocarbons shall be piped or tubed into panels.) Paragraph 3.4.6.2 (Purchasers Option) The vendor shall supply a minimum of two digital tachometers.

Paragraph 3.4.6.4 (Modification)


1. Unless otherwise specified by Mobil, thermowells shall be standardized throughout the unit application. 2. For "thermocouple" read "temperature sensing device."

Paragraph 3.4.6.6 (Addition)


Solenoid valves shall be designed for fail-safe operation; that is, to fail to a safe position on loss of electric power. Coils shall be sized for continuous operation. Critical shutdown system solenoid valves shall incorporate redundancy in the form of dual coils.

Paragraph 3.4.7.3 (Modification)


Double-pole, double-throw switches shall be used.

Paragraph 3.4.7.4 (Addition)


All trip functions, including excess axial displacement, shall be preceded by a prealarm function.

Paragraph 3.4.7.5 (Addition)


The purchasers job instrument Guides or data sheets shall define "audible alarm" to be consistent with other audible alarms in the plant.

Paragraph 3.4.7.6 (Purchasers Option)

Paragraph 3.4.7.6 (Substitution)


The vendor shall furnish a first-up annunciator. The purchasers job instrument Guides shall define lighting of the alarm display for alarm, trip, acknowledge, and reset to be consistent with other annunciator displays in the plant. The vendor shall state scan time and response time of first-out annunciator functions.

Paragraph 3.4.7.7 (Substitution)

Stainless steel drain piping and drain headers NPS 2 (NPS = nominal pipe size, inches) or larger shall be Schedule 10 or heavier. All stainless piping shall be flushed clean with solvent after fabrication. Socket weld fittings and lap-joint stub ends with slip-on flanges are not acceptable (see EGE 15-B-9).

Paragraph 3.5.3.4 (New)


Zero calibration arrangement for differential pressure instruments on oil filters shall be valved and vented to atmosphere. Bypassing of instruments is not permissible. Differential pressure instruments shall be designed to accept full system pressure on either side with zero pressure on the other.

Paragraph 3.5.6.4 (Substitution)


Components of the inlet filter assembly, ducting, silencers, etc., shall be fabricated using Type 304 or 316 stainless steel and, except for filter media, shall be designed for a useful life of 15 years.

All components of this system shall be designed and installed to ensure that no parts can come loose internally and enter the compressor inlet.

When specified, the wash system for cleaning the air compressor section of the gas turbine shall be provided by the vendor. The compressor wash system shall be a self-contained automated system.

Paragraph 3.6.1.2 (Addition)

A suitable fire protection system with dual rating shall be provided, including the following: 1. Control panel with automatic/manual operation. Panel shall be freestanding and located in the control room. System shall have self-diagnosis feature to indicate and alarm on malfunction. 2. Gas detectors. 3. Alarms. 4. Piping system. The CO2 system shall be designed in accordance with NFPA 12 unless modified herein. For surface fires (for example, hydrocarbon spill fires) refer to NFPA 12, Section 2.3 and Table 2-3.2.1. Where deep seated fires are to be expected, see NFPA 12, Section 2.4.

Paragraph 3.6.4.3 (New)


The vendor shall state the noise levels predicted and guaranteed for his equipment and shall indicate where these noise levels exceed specified limits. Suppliers of the driven equipment and ancillary equipment shall also state noise levels predicted and guaranteed. It shall be the responsibility of the gas turbine vendor to predict the combined noise level for the train.

Paragraph 3.7.1.1 (Addition)

SECTION 4 INSPECTION AND TESTS

Paragraph 4.1 General (Addition)


All equipment covered by this Guide shall be subjected to inspection and/or witnessed testing by a representative of the purchaser and/or client. Representatives shall be granted access to any and all parts of the vendors plant(s) or the subvendors plant(s) engaged in the manufacture or testing of materials/equipment covered. The vendor shall arrange with the subvendors to comply with these requirements. "Witness" and "hold" points and the extent of advance notice of these events shall be mutually agreed upon by the vendor and purchaser, except for the in-house test covered in Paragraph 4.3.1.3.

Paragraph 4.2.1 (Addition)


The vendor shall ensure that the following data are available for examination by Mobil or its representative upon request: 1. All necessary certification of material, such as mill test reports. 2. Purchase Guides for all items on bills of material. 3. Running test data to verify that the requirements of the Guide are being met.

These in-house test results shall be reviewed with the local inspector and/or purchaser.

Paragraph 4.3.1.6 (New)


Final test procedure details covering any specified running test shall be submitted to the purchaser for comment and prior agreement. Paragraph 4.3.2.1 (Clarification) Pressure-containing parts (including auxiliaries) shall be tested hydrostatically with water in accordance with the following schedule:

Paragraph 4.3.2.1 (Addition)


If the liquid used for hydrostatic tests of stainless steel materials is water, the chloride content shall be limited to a maximum of 10 ppm. All O-rings and gaskets used during hydrostatic tests shall be replaced with new ones prior to shipment.

Paragraph 4.3.3.1 (Substitution)


All of the following unit accessories shall be used for the shop mechanical running tests: job lube system, including pumps, filters, transfer valves, coolers, and controls (see Paragraph 4.3.4); accessory gear with job coupling; job starting devices; and hydraulic system. The shop mechanical running test of the gas turbine shall be conducted as follows: 1. The gas turbine cranking and starting device, with controls, shall be demonstrated. 2. The gas turbine shall be started and brought up to the minimum operating speed in accordance with the specified test acceleration rate. 3. The gas turbine shall be operated through the specified speed range (minimum to maximum operating speed) in a slow, controlled manner. 4. Operation shall be at maximum continuous speed, with job accessories, for a minimum of four continuously fired hours. This four-hour running shall be conducted after all defects have been eliminated and bearing temperature is stabilized. Accumulated hours due to start/stop to make minor repairs shall not be considered as meeting the four-hour test requirement. 5. During the four-hour test, the turbine shall be operated briefly at a speed just below trip setting to obtain a set of vibration readings and to verify conformance with Paragraph 2.5.2.2 of API 616. Vibration level during this period shall be below vendors recommended vibration alarm setting. Return turbine to maximum continuous speed and operate for at least one hour.

Paragraph 4.3.3.2, Item 3, Last Sentence (Addition)


3. The casing and piping systems shall be checked for joint and connection tightness. All fuel and oil leaks shall be corrected. Any air leaks adversely affecting performance or, in Mobils judgement, posing a safety hazard shall be corrected prior to starting the four-hour test.

Paragraph 4.3.3.4 (Modification)


While operating at maximum continuous speed and at other speeds specified in the test agenda, sweeps shall be made for vibration amplitudes at frequencies other than synchronous. As a minimum, these sweeps shall cover a range of 0.25 of synchronous to twice vane passing frequency. If the amplitude of any discrete, nonsynchronous vibration exceeds 20 percent of the allowable vibration as defined in 2.7.2.5, the vendor and the purchaser shall mutually agree on the requirements for additional testing, if any, and suitability for shipment.

Paragraph 4.3.3.7, Item 3 (Addition)


Considerations will be given to using velocity/acceleration probes as an additional measure of acceptability where these are vendors standards.

Paragraph 4.3.3.7 (Addition)


The vendor shall supply all necessary instruments in addition to those job instruments furnished to record and monitor vibration data. Tapes of recorded data shall be submitted to the purchaser for baseline data. Provision shall be made for on-line condition monitoring (including spectral analysis) during the test.

Paragraph 4.3.3.8, Item 3 (New)


3. The data collected shall include, but not be limited to, adjustable governor response, speed range sensitivity, and linearity of relationship between speed and control signal.

Paragraph 4.3.4 (Purchasers Option)


1. Performance test The gas turbine shall be performance tested using the applicable ASME performance test code as reference. The test shall be conducted using the "indirect method" outlined in ASME PTC-22. The performance test shall demonstrate the following as a minimum: Compressor air flowrate Characteristic curve of compressor Turbine firing temperature Turbine exhaust temperature Turbine head consumption 2. Complete unit test The gas turbine shall be mechanically tested as a complete unit with auxiliary gear, lube oil system, and starting device. The vendor shall quote, as an option, provisions for mechanically testing gas turbine and driven equipment together. 3. Gear test The auxiliary gear shall be tested with the gas turbine during the shop mechanical test. All auxiliary and driven gears shall be tested in accordance with EGE 15-B-11. 4. Sound level test The sound level test shall be performed in accordance with API Standard 615, EGE 00-B-5, and the project specifications. 5. Auxiliary equipment test Auxiliary equipment, such as oil systems, shall be tested in accordance with EGE 15-B-9. 6. Post-test inspection Dismantling, inspection, and reassembly of gas turbine, accessary gear, or driven equipment shall be done with Mobil approval. All inspections shall be made after satisfactory completion of the mechanical running tests. 7. Post-test bearing inspection All bearings shall be removed, inspected and reassembled after completion of the mechanical test. On multiple-shaft units where intermediate bearings are not accessible, the vendor and customer shall mutually agree on inspection procedures.

8. Other Tests and inspections not listed or defined herein shall be completely described in the inquiry and the purchase order.

Paragraph 4.4.1 (Addition)


The vendor shall be solely responsible for the adequacy of the preparation for shipment. Shipment preparation procedures shall be submitted to Mobil for approval prior to shipment. Rotors shall be blocked where necessary. Bearing and seal assemblies shall be fully protected from rusting and entry of moisture and dirt. Soft, inert sheeting should be used to protect bearing/journal faces. Desiccants shall be installed in large cavities, such as inlet and discharge nozzles and bearing housings, to absorb moisture. These desiccants should be attached to flange covers if feasible. The type of container, as well as its attachment and location, shall be reviewed with the purchaser. Equipment containing insulating oils, rust preventives, antifreeze solutions, or other fluids shall be suitably tagged at openings to indicate the nature of contents and shipping and storage precautions. Bracing, supports, and rigging connections shall be provided to prevent damage during transit, lifting, or unloading. Temporary supports or bracing shall be suitably tagged or painted to indicate removal is required upon permanent installation.

Paragraph 4.4.2.2 (Modification)


All rust preventive products used for exterior and interior machine surfaces shall be of the Mobilarma type. All rust preventives shall be submitted for Mobil approval.

Paragraph 4.4.2.3, First Sentence (Modification)


The interior of the equipment shall be sprayed or flushed with a rust preventive that is compatible with the process gas and does not require removal by solvent.

Paragraph 4.4.2.5 (Addition)


Larger-diameter flanges (NPS 10 and above) shall have 9.5 mm (3/8 in.) thick, full-size steel covers with gaskets and one full-size bolt in every other hole. A rust inhibitor shall be applied to all flange faces.

Paragraph 4.4.2.6 (Addition)


All taped openings in hydrocarbon and steam service shall be plugged with solid steel plugs, in accordance with ASME B16.11, but with 30 mm (1 in.) minimum extension. Open ends of tubes and pipe shall be steel capped for protection. Waterproof tape or plastic caps are not acceptable.

Paragraph 4.4.2.9 (Substitution)


All equipment shall be packed, securely anchored (skid mounted when required), and weather protected for the selected shipment method. Separate, loose, or spare parts shall be boxed, and each part shall be individually protected as required. Each container shall be marked, both inside and outside, to show the equipment number and service for which the parts are intended. Each container shall also include a complete bill of materials identifying each part. Specific, durable tagging is required for all loose items. 1. Tags shall be of corrosion-resistant metal and impression stamped "Item No._____." Tags shall be attached to each component with a stainless steel wire. 2. In general, items to be tagged will be all instrumentation, all preassembled components, and all

separately shipped components that require a field process or field utility connection.

Paragraph 4.4.4.4 (New)


The fit-up and assembly of machine-mounted piping, coolers, and the like shall be completed in the vendors shop prior to shipping.
SECTION 6 VENDOR'S DATA

Paragraph 6.1.3, Item 1 (Substitution)


1. The vendor shall submit a completed EGE 15-D-19 with the proposal. Proposals submitted without data sheets completed will not be evaluated.

Paragraph 6.1.3, Item 11 (Addition)


Unless there is a specific exception, and a description of the proposed alternative is recorded under the heading "Exceptions" in the vendors proposal, it shall be mutually understood that the proposal is based on equipment in strict compliance with the requirements of this Guide, EGE 15-D-19, and the project specifications.

Paragraph 6.1.3, Item 12 (New)


12. A preliminary test program shall be submitted with the proposal. This program shall describe test agenda and acceptance criteria in addition to shop equipment used for the test. The procedure shall be finalized after the purchase order and shall be in accordance with requirements of the project specifications. Paragraph 6.1.4 (Purchasers Option) Delete bullet.

Paragraph 6.1.4 (Addition)


The proposal shall include a power-vs-speed curve, with the head rate, for ambient temperatures in 20 degree intervals from maximum to minimum site temperatures specified on EGE 15-D-19. Correction curves for altitude, as well as inlet and exhaust losses, shall also be provided.

Paragraph 6.1.5, Item 2 (Addition)


Additionally, provide price and delivery for the following spare parts: Spares for one-year operation. Combustion inspection spares. Maintenance spares. Major inspection spares. Spare vibration probes, proximitor, cables. Spare rotor mechanical test.

Such comments shall not be construed as permission to deviate from any requirements of the order unless specific and mutual agreement is reached and confirmed in writing.
