From taking it apart, I learned how the electronics worked, and what the motor which drives the apparatus looks like. I also learned the device is actually simpler than I had anticipated. The product would be repaired by replacing the motor, the diode within the circuit, one of the individual parts still being fabricated, and screws. The batteries could be recycled in a facility that specializes in their re-use.
The vacuum itself could have a motor upgrade/replacement in the future, which could make it more powerful in sucking up dirt. It also could be modified or used to pick up a large amount of small objects, say to collect a lot of scattered beads without picking them up one by one by hand. The diode in the circuit, motor, screws, perforated filter, and outlet wire can probably be repurposed to fit other demands.
