DIABETIC DIALOGUE WILL MEET AT BRMC
Diabetic Dialogue, a diabetes support group, will meet
Monday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. in Bradford Regional Medical
Center’s (BRMC’s) Same Day Surgery waiting room in the
Outpatient Services Center, located off the North Bennett
Street access.
“Tradition Doesn’t Always Have To Be Food” will be the topic
of guest speaker Mary Anne Polucci-Sherman, a licensed
psychologist for BRMC’s Bradford Recovery Systems. “This is a
free meeting to support anyone dealing with the diagnosis of
diabetes for themselves or family members who need help with
emotional aspects,” says Stacy Williams, BRMC’s director of
Volunteer Services and Annual Giving.
Diabetes is a disease in which the body does not produce or
properly use insulin, according to Stacia Nolder, RN, CDE,
CPT, program coordinator for BRMC’s Center for Diabetes &
Nutrition Education. Insulin is a hormone that is needed to
convert sugar, starches or other food into energy needed for
daily life. The cause of diabetes is still unknown but both address are 858-578-5540, and pholuvoys@aol.com. You should expect
