Charles Sargent Caught Flip-Flopping
On Gun Rights

Tells town hall meeting he was "undecided" after he told
media he was "for" pro-gun bill

Franklin, TN - Rep Charles Sargent has been caught flip-flopping on a piece of pro-gun
legislation at a town hall meeting in Williamson County last night, May 8th. When asked
about his support for the pro-gun legislation, he told the crowd "I have not made up my
mind" even though on 4-9-14 he told the Tennessean newspaper that "I'm voting to
move that bill out [of my committee]".

"If he is willing to flip-flop on the 2nd Amendment, what else is he willing to flip-flop on?"
asked John Harris, Executive Director of the Tennessee Firearms Association. "The
time for career politicians doing the dirty work of our anti-gun Governor and legislative
leaders is over. I think voters in his district are about to 'Maggartize' Mr. Sargent and
they should".

The phrase "Maggartize" references former Representative and Caucus Chair Debra
Maggart who was soundly defeated in 2012 during a brutal primary by Lt. Col. Courtney
Rogers with the help of the TFA's PAC. The race was fought over the issue of Mrs.
Maggart's quiet behind-the-scenes killing of the 2011 'Safe Commute' bill.

Representative Charles Sargent is currently being challenged in the Republican primary
by local conservative entrepreneur and TFA member Steve Gawrys.

The Tennessee Firearms Association was founded in 1995 and formed to defend the
right to keep and bear arms and to educate the citizenry on the responsible use,
ownership, and carrying of firearms. The TFA is Tennessee's only no-compromise gun
group.
