Question:
I have understood from you O Shaykh that the two Rakaah after Asr, so when is
the time when it is forbidden to pray after Asr?

Answer:
As for the two Rakaah after Asr then I have mentioned previously that the Prophet (sallallaahu
alayhi wassallam) prayed them, as did a group of Companions and Taabieen which I found
number eleven in their number. One narration from them is sufficient, the narration of Aaishah
is sufficient. As for the prohibition to pray after Asr then this is restricted to when the Sun
becomes yellowish in colour and so long as the sun has not gone down. If the sun is apparent
then there is no dislike of praying at that time after Asr. Many famous ahaadeeth have arrived in
this issue which show that the prohibition of praying after Asr is restricted to when the sun goes
down. One of our brothers has authored a good treatise, which I read and introduced, entitled
Ilaam Ahl ul-Asr bis-Sunniyyat ir-Rakatayn Bad il-Asr [Informing the People of the Era of the
Sunnah of Praying Two Rakaah After Asr].

Within this book he relays all of the ahaadeeth and
narrations and explains that which will assure the Sunnis soul, who looks for the proof, and the
student of knowledge who knows the principles of deduction, that the two Rakaah after Asr is
from the Sunnah.
