WHAT DID UNCLE HO PREPARE FOR THE JOURNEY TO LIBERATE VIETNAMESE

NATION?
(hnh 1) Many people think that stories about Uncle Hos simple life when he was the
president of Viet Nam are precious,(chn hnh 2) but for me, the stories when he was young are
more admirable;because at that time, he didnt know what he could become, what he could do
for his nation,(chn hnh 3) at that time, he went to find the way to gain independence for
Vietnamese nation by himself, with just the support from his own patriotism and his iron
will.(hnh 4)It was the time to show how great Uncle Ho was.
(video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmYXZmivMKo 0:16 -> 0:36) Before going
abroad, Uncle Ho had lived in Sai Gon for several months. There was a story that was told by a
scholar, Le, Uncle Hs friend when he was in Sai Gon. One day, Uncle Ho suddenly asked
him:(hnh 5)
- Le, do you love your country?
- Of course, my friend. He answered surprisingly.
- Can you keep a secret?- Uncle H asked
- Sure
Then he went on
-(video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmYXZmivMKo 4:09 -> 4:29)I want to go
abroad, to France and other countries. I want to know what and how they did and then come back
and help our nation. But going abroad alone is somewhat dangerous, especially when Im ill or
something, Do you want to go with me?
-(hnh 6)But my friend, where can we have money?
- Here, here money is Uncle H brought out his bare hands and said We can work. We
can do anything to go and to live. So do you want to go with me?

Being impressed and convinced by Uncle Hs enthusiasm, he agreed.
However, after thinking about this journey carefully, he decided not to take the risk.

After few days, he no longer saw his friend. Maybe hes on a ship going abroad he guessed.
How did he go? Le didnt know. (hnh 7) After years, he finally found out that young man was
Ho Chi Minh, the president of Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

In 1911, Uncle Ho left Viet Nam. He worked as a kitchen helper on a French steamer, while
using the alias "Vn Ba". Although the short time learning French could not help him to
communicate in French, he still decided to go and learned French by himself. A sailor on that
steamer told a story about Ba. He worked really hard. Every day, he worked from 4 am to about
9pm.(hnh 8)After work, other worker would rest or play cards, but Ba read or wrote something
till midnight. Despite his work position, he was knowledgeable. He usually taught other workers
alphabet and helped them writing letters for their families. They all had grown fond of him. (hnh
9) There were also two passengers, two French soldiers that quickly made friends with Ba. In the
evening, they helped him to learn French and he taught them Vietnamese in return. Ba set an aim
to learn 10 new words a day.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HMYQeb2SMo(3:06 -> 3:16)
If he couldnt learn by heart in the evening, he would write them on his arms, so that he could
read and learn while he was working the next day.
(hnh 10) With an unshakable self-educated will, after several years, that little young man
became editor of a newspaper in France. Moreover, Uncle Ho was also well-known forhis
capability of speaking many different languages like English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Thai,
(hnh 11) Going abroad with bare hands and unable to speak native language is an
extraordinary thing. It is only can be done with a heart full of patriotism and an iron will. It is
only can be done by our great president, Ho Chi Minh.Cho chy thm khong 5s na
